🎾 OFFICIAL AGASSI RETRO THREAD - ATC II 2024 Hot Lava “aged” retro 🎾

All I'm saying is that for a shoe no one cares about , that you could have found for a fairly good price 3 years ago is no where being sold below $200 now a days, especially after the Yeezy 2's dropped. And yes I understand this is the era of the "reseller" and but there is high demand for this shoe no matter what colorway it is. I've seen a beat pair, go for $200.. Yeeeeah.. Either way I just hope everyone who truly loves the atc 2's and fans of the whole Agassi line gets their pair on a wider release down the road

^No one cared about any shoe 3 years ago. Hell even 2 years ago no one cared. If you wanted the BM Vs you could simply walk in the store and buy three of them. If they came out again tomorrow those same people who copped three pairs 2 weeks after release with ease would be struggling to get one.

Every shoe has gone up in value since then.

Ahhh there were a handful of shoes that sold out , in which true collectors went to go and grab them on release, air more uptempos "house of hoops" release, black/white air mores, I could name you a bunch of releases that sold out instantly without hype behind the shoe, people did once care about shoes before hype/reselling stepped in..

No, again, you act like the Air Tech 2 is his only retro.

Have you looked at the prices of the others? None are close, and it's not like the 2008's had great quality.

And prices of regular Nike retros are far behind prices of Jordans and foams as far as resell. The only retros that have really risen are the limited ones. Most of the other general release retros are retail or less on the resell market unless you wait like ten years. That's because new kids aren't in to retros, because there's no hype. They just know Jordans. That's why Griffey's, Deion's, Bo's, Trainers, Huaraches, Air Revolutions, Air Max, etc..... rot on shelves. Every non limited sneaker people will say they'll get them on sale or from outlets.

I think the only ones that you see rise beyond retail are Barkleys and Griffey Max, and that's partially because they didn't sit in the first place.

Are we talking about recent retroes? A lot of those shoes have equal resale profit. You act like Jays are selling for $100+ over retail. Besides the limited ones, IIIs, and XIs they sell for 30-40 above retail+tax+shipping that you would pay from FL, FNL or something.

Air Maxes come in a million new colorways every year. All those millions of colorways of Jordan 1s they made rotted on shelves and have no resale value at all. Revolutions were terribly done retro. Hurt my feet to walk to the closest mirror and that is not and over exaggeration. But I will leave that discussion in that thread.

If we are talking about older retroes you can find colorways in any model that don't sell for **** and ones that people will pay over $100 over retail for. And those same shoes wouldnt be going for much 3ish years ago

No people didnt. Most of those shoes were limited. And yes collectors, the only one who cared at the time were scooping. But even then the resale value wasnt then what it is now even.

You're talking about SB Dunks

Seriously I don't think you and dude even realize what this discussion even is, and what dudes were trying to say.

First SB Dunks aren't a general release. They're only sold to stores with SB accounts. Next, SB Dunks aren't an actual retro. The Nike Dunk is a retro. I guess you can say something like the Viotech was a retro, but that was an asia only release. And do people care about OG colorway Nike Dunks without SB or a gimmick, store collab or theme attached to it?

What dudes are saying is no different than someone saying foamposites popularity increased the demand for some other Penny's, thus raising the resell prices.

It's very rare for a real retro to jump in price, much less overnight. Especially one that never sold and was easily attainable. You sell deadstock retros and you're lucky if you get box price back. Young kids could care less about them, because that's why they sat on shelves in the first place. They have no emotional attachment with them, and aren't seen as a status symbol like Jordans or foams.

SBs arent a retro because? They were just created this year? I am not sure what you are talking about. QS doesnt mean ridiculously limited like the kicks you are talking about. I'm sure you have plenty of QS kicks you didnt have to try hard to get. If you don't get 99% of Dunks that come out you really didnt want bad enough. Most are easier to cop than GR Jordans.

You aren't familiar with the retro section and retros, right?

Snagged a pair, but wasn't my size in hopes of finding the right one.

The leather quality on the US Opens is REALLY nice along with the terry cloth lining. Kind of mad that I passed on the Wimbledons now knowing the quality. If I can scoop my size, I'll definitely rock these regularly. Perfect amount of color and black leather. The 3M hits are always a nice touch as well.

I also noticed that they were being sold for $20 less than the box price of $140?

Hmmm... that's interesting... for the "OG" c/w, they went with 2-tone white/grey instead of the all-white... also dropped the teal-Huarache bootie?  Could be just a sample-pic.

these shouldnt even be called retros, theyre drastically different and are more of a retro + model rather than a true to form retro
