According to my local boutique an official release for the Lavas (non-QS)  is coming in May. But what do they know?!

Im still tryin to figure out how some did not acquire lavas or clays. They were definitely produced in good numbers and almost every retailer/boutique had them. Including euro spots.

I guess i can understand if u didnt have the funds or somethin at the time

To those still questioning which release is closest to the OG, the answer is a little bit more complicated than you would think.  

Both the 2008 and the 2014 have many misfires when it comes to matching the shape, color, and detail of the original.  It really comes down to picking the lesser of two evils.  The colors on the 2014 are extremely drab when comparing them to the OG and 2008 pair in person.  The shape of the 2008 is off a bit in the toe box area, but the shape of the 2014 isn't anything to write home about either.  The OG has a much sleeker and aggressive stance, featuring a "lava" color that has a bit more orange in it than pink.  

I'll have more very detailed pics coming in the future that point out the inconsistencies between these 3 pairs.  When it comes down to it, I love each retro edition and I find it fascinating to dissect the difference between them.  These are all DS and size 10, so the comparisons should be pretty accurate.

You can see how the OG is made for performance. So much sleeker. Especially on the outsole.

wow. yeah toebox on both retros is completely different from the OGs, although the 14's are slightly closer than the 08's. also the collar height keeps getting higher & higher with each retro lol
