OFFICIAL AGASSI RETRO THREAD...New Black and White ATC II pairs to be released - Page 8

A US Open pair!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do love the black and purple but they could have been much more creative. The Open has always been the most colorful tournament with clothes and shoes. How do you go to an all black upper?

lighting is terrible not allowing for whatever the true color scheme is to show through. I will hope it is simple and less metallic than the pictures make it look. How much are the wimbledon pair fetching online if any are available? i loved the simplicity of it, but wasn't gonna jump through hoops to get it.

Wimbledon's are almost impossible to find in larger sizes and people asking stupid prices like $350 for them.

Thanks for sharing, but not feeling them.  Oh well.

I'm sure better pics will come out by release date so I won't say how I feel about them now. I got the wimbledon's so it will be nice to have the matching US Opens. I can tell by the pic it is about as high quality as the wimbledons based of the leather Nike tag alone. That is a HUGE plus for me.

sick.gif When I checked before leaving london they were not going for much higher than retail (which was $165-170 at the then current exchange rate). If I knew they would be this much I would've copped more pairs. Trust me. Those SAT in London. When I went to pick up Bad Lt pair (5 days after release) I asked what sizes they still had left and dude told me a FSR.

EDIT:
Based on the color of the Nike check and pattern on the bottom looks like 3M is coming back too

comments like that just makes me want to stop buying shoes.... the sheer ignorance
post #224 of 37073
Black/purps are cool but way more partial to the Wimbledons. I'm assuming the quality and materials are the same on both. But wouldn't want to pay much more than retail on these.

).  The thing is, a lot of sneakerheads will see these as a good retro.  Look at a few of the sneaker blogs... I haven't seen one that has mentioned the inaccuracies of these.  As far as they're concerned, it's a "proper retro".  I wish they'd do a bit of homework and make it known to the masses that this retro just isn't good enough.

I guess the bright side is that ATC IV's used a similar outsole, hopefully they'll retro those AND get them right.

I don't even feel the desire to get these retros and thrash them around a tennis court. tired.gif

Old heads like us are bogged down with wives, careers, kids, etc. So, we don't have the time to blog for free about retro kicks. Therefore, it's left to those who don't know to lead the masses. It's a shame.

The only ones thats goin hard for these are the genuin heads out there , at least the ones thats still left... I really hope, once and for all, we'll see a true to form retro line I-IV .cause these are my last hope from this brand since the design and materials are goin in a complete new direction , a direction which is far from what i once fell in love with many yrs ago.

I know it's cheaper to cut corners, but like you said, this is a niche market retro. They should know which audiences are picky and which are not, and which shoes will have a wide enough appeal that the dolts will make the sticklers irrelevant. I'd really like to see Nike's market research department - they're messing up as much as anybody.

Need that US Open pair. Hopefully I can cop a pair with ease, but all the sites are trying to hype them up mean.gif

We're that niche-market!  How does it make any sense for them to not make a product that will appeal to their supposed target market?  I refuse to believe that they don't have or couldn't find an OG shoe where they could recreate the outsole.

Now just watch them use the ATC II outsole for the ATC IV. eyes.gif

Air Tech Challenge IIs are widely considered to be one of the best shoes ever. Fans of those is who will be buying this. Don't see how they even have an excuse for messing up. Not like it would cost that much extra

Funny thing is last time the lava's came out they sat at online stores for about 50 bucks. Now with newbie hypebeasts who think the yeezy's came first will be all over any future atc 2 release

Like the OG colorways most, but the US Open isn't bad at all.

Yup I bought extra pairs as well. I remember them sitting at finishlime. Surprisingly the organge pair sold out faster. I'm guessing less pairs were made snce the lava's are a much more popular cw.

I like the pattern of Nike doing a US Open. Means an Australian Open next. Black leather looks good, simple. Hopefully they also release the ATC II Lava but even more so I really hope they re-release the clothing especially the matching lava gear. Agassi/Nike/ not only pushed the limits with the shoes but also the gear. Time to pay tribute to that.

I got a pair from Finishline too. Ended up returning them though because of the cheap plastic-like leather mean.gif

The midsole on that US Open though sick.gif

+

Ill cop those Air Tech Huaraches in 2014. OG colorway. Those and any other Andre retros that are soon to come to be released; will not sell out. The younger generation and mainstream sneaker heads overall will think these are just another decent Nike old school retro sneaker. They don't know. mean.gif

EASIER COP FOR US THOUGH! nthat.gif
