Given the buzz that surrounded the U.S. Open ATC2s the past week, you would think they would have limited it to 1 pair per customer.

Completely sold out. I randomly went yesterday after I struck out at Mercer.. They had some small sizes today but they were gone by noon. This release was a mess, the resellers truly won while everyone worked since it was a weekday..

I think the orange outsole will be more suitable for the "French Open" Challenge to match the clay courts. Yeah, I hear ya. I guess those PE's might "justify" it for Nike, but for me, personally, it wasn't something I had, it wasn't something I saw growing-up... so naturally, it's not something I want now.
I wouldn't say it's "hate" on Nike... I think it's the frustration cuz we've seen them do really good/proper retros of other models. Perhaps it was a fit issue? Or better performance? Who knows... but at the same time, I'm guessing these won't be a part of Nike Tennis' performance line (Probably NSW or just Nike). They probably won't be having their 2nd tier players wear these (unless the request it maybe?). They already have 3 models/lines for all their players anyway.

For me I'm a true sz 11 in like 90% of nikes but my lavas from 08 were tight in an 11 so I went up to an 11.5...dunno if. These new Wimbledon and US open tech challenges fit more true or if they're the same as the 08 retro

Like I said, I completely understand. Nike retros the ATC II and III very well, but then makes the hybrids (the true abomination) and switches up with these....
I have also had this question about the ATC III, but why wasn't the smoldering ball on the back of the shoe? Was it a problem with the branding of the challenge court series?

I don't think anyone knows the answer as to why the didn't use the burning ball logo. It clearly wasn't a branding or rights issue since the were using it on t-shirts. A bad mistake on Nike's part by not using it.
