Of course, since it shares its powertrain with the Prius, the CT is an infrequent visitor to the gas station. Weighing a few hundred pounds more than a Prius and sporting larger tires, the CT 200h doesn't get quite the miserly fuel economy of the Toyota, but its combined mileage of 42 mpg is plenty impressive. The downside is leisurely acceleration, and during Edmunds testing, the CT posted a 0-60 time of 10.4 seconds, which is 0.3 second slower than the Prius.

If you live in an area where electric charging stations are prevalent then definitely get a Nissan Leaf. :pimp:

Ninja, let's be real. Ain't nobody driving a hybrid/electric car for street races lol...

It's obviously going to be slower and that's where your mpg's kick in especially in city driving when your constantly in EV (electric only) mode.

No one said these cars are fast. Just an alternative for people who needs something different.

I wanted to stay in the Luxury class, while saving gas and being more economical without driving a hybrid that looks like a spaceship...

That being said, I have no complaints with my CT

After watching that Top Gear Uk ep on the leaf, no thanks. The cost of replacing batteries, the time it takes to charge, the cost of buying the car....not worth it..

Prius C is hands down the best looking Prius. also, Lexus mad another hybrid before the CT called the HS or something like that. it didn't sell well so they discontinued it, but you could probably find one used with low mileage for fairly cheap compared to a brand new CT. I was considering a hybrid as a daily driver, but couldn't really get myself to get one for whatever reason. gas savings would have been nice, but I guess that just wasn't that important to me.

I doubt anyone buying a hybrid would care about a 10 second 0-60, but on the real goddamn that is slow. Hows merging and whatnot? I have a pretty heavy foot when I drive, my Camry's MPG must be in the high teens.

Yeah but that 0-60 time is atrocious. You'll barely be able to maneuever on the freeway. Speed and power isn't everything but it is important.

Like I said, Turbo Diesel is the way to go until Tesla can get that electric technology to be more affordable.

You're right, I can never maneuver on the freeways when I drive everyday. (Sarcasm detector) LOL

0-60 is slow, but it aint that damn slow...

Plus with the CT, there are 4 modes of driving. EV, ECO, NORMAL, and SPORT

I had my doubts after driving BMWs all my life, but after a test drive I fell in love...

The Lexus dealership gave me a loaner CT hybrid when I dropped my IS off to get the timing belt changed a few weeks ago. The CT is nice looks, comfort, build, etc. wise, but that car is too slow for me.

Are you looking for a compact hybrid or a hybrid in general? Now a days everything comes with a hybid model variant. That new hybrid avalon :smokin

I had a 2015 Optima Hybrid EX and speed was never a problem for me. Hell I drove the loaner one 105mph for about 80 miles down i44 when my girlfriend at the time left her morning insulin. And for mergin, Oklahoma is notorious about having highways with no merge lane, where you just drop right off your ramp into traffic at speed and I never found it an issue. Of course, during your heavy footed-est moments your eco score goes down but I think you should test drive one. The fully kitted out EX is pretty slick.

Plus Lexus makes an ES300 hybrid model that drops in price like someone jumping off a cliff so you could catch a 1yr old model with like 10k miles for cheap relative to new which in hindsight is what I should have done. Also look at the Toyota Avalon hybrid and the Ford Fusion hybrid.
