Not sure if this has been covered, but how does Sony's apparently sudden change in direction regarding DRM affect their relationship with developers, if at all?
Who's to say they even made the DRM deal at all?  Sony having DRM in the first place was just a rumor.  Plus, the DRM on XBOne is set up in a way that not much extra money will be made anyway.
I was just referring to Hybrid's earlier comment on how Sony was initially on-board with it, but then pulled a 180.

Girl at GameStop said they got 4x morePS4 stock than Xbox.
Makes sense with all the insiders saying MS are having yield issues with the XBOne chips.

A few of the reliable insiders have said it was MS who approached publishers with the DRM idea not the other way round. I don't think it will affect their relationship with the developers.

This is most likely a dumb question, but Which system will play mkv files from an external hard drive right out the box

MKV is a Microsoft format, so I would guess X1.

PS3 had a work around. Alot of people requested it so maybe we will see it on PS4.

Are all the games shown going to be ported to current gen?
Better question..how many are next gen only?

Just saw that Megaman on Smash trailer. AAAHHH! :x but I dont wanan get a Wii U or 3DS

You can reserve at GameStop too? How the hell do they already know how much stock they will have? My have times changed

They will distribute/order based on preordering.

Preorders help consumers guarantee purchase, while helping stores predict demand.

seriously considering trading in my 360 and all my games to gamestop towards the ps4. had a bunch of my games stolen so i dont really have a lot of games id miss other than skyrim, fallout 3 and catherine . if i can get a decent amount of credit towards the ps4 then imma pull the trigger but if they try to give me some bs ill just keep my 360

For those that are planning on getting a PS+ subscription soon:

Best Buy is running a special where you can get $10 off a one year PS+ subscription if you have a BestBuy.com account with your Best Buy Reward Zone[emoji]174[/emoji] member number attached to the account. The offer is good until 6-22-13. I just picked up mine a hour ago.

but at the press conference the guy said that ppl that are new to the psn network first timers get a year free...so it seems as if you are jumping ship...you take that free year first then scour for the best deals afterwards.

Can a sony "fanboy" answer a question for me?

Why do alot of people who ride so hard for the PS seem to have an aversion to online multiplayer? I've been loving online multi since the dreamcast and dial up and can't imagine a playing a console offline. But I see so many sony fans in forums claiming they will never get online w/ a ps4, which seems odd to say that on a internet forum. Can one of yall explain that to me?

Wow, I am an accounting major who just sounded like an idiot. Of course I knew that. I let my excitement/emotions get the best of me

“We create the platform. We’ve certainly stated with our first party games, we’re not going to be doing that. But we welcome publishers and their business models to our platforms. There’s going to be free-to-play; there’s going to be every potential business model on there and again that’s up to their relationship with the consumer and what they think is going to put them in the best stead. So we’re not going to dictate that. We’re going to give them a platform to publish on."

"The DRM decision is going to have to be in the hands of the third parties. That’s not something that we’re going to dictate or mandate or control or implement."

This doesnt cover everyone, but alot of people started on the NES/SNES/PSOne and became accustomed to playing alone.

RPG's are a huge culprit. You can play hundreds of hours without having to experience it with anyone but yourself.

I enjoy multiplayer immensely, but if I had to choose, single player/offline play is what I'd prefer.
