Official "Going to Vegas in..." Vol. II "It was time"

Friends trying to plan something 2nd week of June and invited me, had a discussion last night and half are being cheap as hell the other half are wanting to spend money. Would like to go since it is a birthday but man I can't do that again :smh: . Might try and plan something to be down there with some other people on the same page as me and just meet up with them for a night.

Don't go to Vegas with people who don't want to spend money.

this is spot on.

i stopped bothering inviting some of my friends because they were limited on the things they wanted to do.  i get people have budgets and all, but these dudes were just nitpicking and being cheap and lessened the fun i was having.

What's cheap to you guys? Also, what kind of plans were you making?

cheap as in dudes that just want to drink $1 beers and chill on freemont,  play the cheap blackjack at the rivera and just trying to do things on way too tight of a budget.

i'm not saying to foolishly throw money away, but at the same time, loosen up and live a little

How I missed this thread, I have no idea. Stayed at hard rock, ate at wicked spoon. Thumbs up at both of those. Got completely faded a few times at the hotel bar, for super cheap (buy one get one free, no limit happy hour) going back again next month.

That is thee WORST

Yea some peoples just wanna walk up and down the strip with a beer in their hand cuz it's "so cool to be able to drink on the strip." To each their own, but I wanna party

First of all, cheap is relative in Vegas. so let's just get that out of the way lol.

This is the approach I take. I always ask: "What are you worried about spending money on?" That's a totally reasonable question, because then you can figure EXACTLY how to tackle the situation.

Is it food?

Hey, I don't mind going down there and eating half my meals at Chipotle and whatnot. Food is food in Vegas, and provides sustenance. Yeah, I like to splurge on a nice meal once a trip, but I can have a nice meal at home. It's not a requirement to go to Joel Robuchon's latest spot.

Is it clubs?

Well, guess what? There are crazy good bottle deals out there. I can have a great night out in Vegas for CHEAPER than back home. People don't believe me, but it's true. You can "make it work", so to speak. Sure, maybe it means getting into town on a Thursday, or staying through Monday or Tuesday, and getting a deal on those "off" nights. Those are some of the best parties in Vegas, though. On a slow weekend, you can even get bottle deals on a Friday/Saturday at a Tier 2 club.

Is it gambling?

Well, it is called GAMBLING. That being said, not every table is a $25 minimum like the Wynn. Also, not every table is a $5 minimum like Casino Royale. There's a lot in between. You don't have to be a high roller, and you don't have to feel bad slumming it. Find a happy medium to find a good atmosphere to actually ENJOY what you're doing. Want to do sports betting? Drop $5 on wacky parlays and see what hits. I've had friends land $250 payouts on $5 bets. If you win, awesome. If you lose, it's five friggin' dollars.

Is it alcohol, in general?

Well, don't go to Bar X in the casino. Go to CVS/Walgreens and stock up on booze. Make your own drinks and walk around with them.

Is it cabs?

Well, let's figure out what we want to do, and stay in a hotel that will allows us to do the most activities with the fewest amount of cab rides. (Example: my last trip, I literally did not take a cab to get anywhere on the strip. Everything was in walking distance. I planned it that way.)

Is it strip clubs?

$200 for half an hour in the champale room. Don't want to spend that? Fine, $20 for a lap dance. None of that is negotiable. And I won't feel sorry for your broke *** when you told me you didn't want to spend money on the trip, yet gave $500 to Misty in the back room because she told you she was trying to pay for beauty school.

the dudes that are like "lets get a yard long margarita and just walk the strip" type guys

Never been to five guys. It was kinda like bougie fat burger.

5 guys is like the inverse of fatburger

fatburger = large, quality

5 guys = small, meh

thanks I'll look it up, groom said "manly" dinner whatever that means :nerd:

i swear i remember reading about a steakhouse where you can get a private dining room for your party, smoke cigars drink whiskey all that old-school man stuff :pimp: just cant remember the name

I'm sure there's a few on the strip like that.

What's cheap to you guys? Also, what kind of plans were you making?

Cheap is someone who wants to stay at the freaking Excalibur or Harrahs and not pitch in an extra $50 to get a way better room at for example the Venetian.
Cheap is someone who just wants to walk the strip all the damn weekend with drinks.
Cheap is someone who says even paying $20(cheap as hell) to get into a club is too much.

Me and my buddy in this meet up we had asked the others budgets and they were pretty damn low I will say, about 1/4 of what my budget would be. I am not saying someone has to go and drop a bunch of money but just walking around being drunk and not doing much else seems boring as hell to me. People need to learn to live a little.

Does anybody know how much those boxing tickets would cost or when they go on sale?
Its my birthday weekend that weekend too. Really thinking about it now.
Are those tickets hard to buy like limited edition jordans online? lol

Lol this is going to be the biggest fight off all time. You're going to have to pay a pretty penny, arm, leg and torso

Give me numbers. It doesn't have to be a front row seat [emoji]128513[/emoji] pardon my ignorance
