Official "Going to Vegas in..." Vol. II "It was time"

Gotta be at Vegas on a last minute notice to meet friends of a friend. Won't be clubbing or anything. Probably will just do tourist stuff on the strip. I'm looking for a cheap place to stay and its down to Circus Circus or Stratosphere. Any input on either? Thanks.

^when will you be there bro? I fly out on Wednesday.
It's a hella short trip, man. Arriving Saturday morning and leaving Sunday. It's a 4 hour drive. Just got the word last night before I went to bed. Lol.

Both of those places are turrible
I figured that given the price. I just plan on checking in, taking Uber to meet up with group. Walk around and drink. Dinner. Talk biz. Maybe lounge or whatever. Come back to sleep and leave Sunday. It's not a trip I had in mind but since it's only a 4 hour drive from LA, I'm entertaining it.

I've heard nightmarish stories about circus circus. I've stayed at the Strat many times. It's pretty decent to me. Probably the best value on the strip next to maybe Bally's or SLS. Only thing is it's a bit north of the heart of the strip. So plan on extra travel time and expense.

Just my opinion, use hotel tonight and get a better room for a little bit more money. Something more centrally located.

bacchanal buffet worth the price? it looks legit as hell but its PRICEY

Got to try it at least once. I personally love it but that's only 2-3 a year, tops!

Yo Wis!

I would personally do Stratosphere out of the two. Circus is filled with family & kids running around everywhere, also quality is tad bit better than Circus, though that's not saying much

If its only for 1 night and looking for a cheap rate, nothing wrong with the Sphere.

Sounds good, dude.

Thanks for putting me on that all, bro. Loving the UX. Does the price go down as the days go by? Tempted to wait until Thursday or Friday to book since there are so many options.

Haven't gone to Circus Circus since elementary school

If this was a planned trip with the squad then it would be a diff story.

Edit: damn. Uber is pricey. Just checked. Going to use that uber money to stay at Monte Carlo on center strip instead. lol

No problem. If you need a promo code use PLYMBERTOS.

Some rates go down as the days go by, but also certain hotels are no longer available too. The app allows you to see the rates for a period of 7 days and remember you have up until 12AM to book.

Has anybody gone during March Madness during the week? I might have some free nights I might be able to use so I'm considering going there solo for the first time.

I went one year. The sports books get SLAMMED, so it's good to get into a private viewing room (Cosmo has a great set up). They have on-site betting and a full bar, and it's limited to the people in that room (obviously).

If not, the Hilton theater is pretty good. Just get there early. It's all free and first come, first served. The line for placing bets it's pretty insane though, at times.

do those private viewing rooms have sound? like is there a main game on a bigger screen with the commentary/sound on?

if it was just a bunch of smaller TVs showing the different games with no sound it would kill the experience IMO

My friends do one at a man cave. Believe it's 2k for up to 10 people. All you can drink, eat and you can place wagers right there.

They rotate the sound between games. Basically, they'll have the sound on for whatever is the "best" game at the moment. With staggered starts you'll end up hearing the endings of every close game. At least, that's how it was when I was there.

Also, the games are on enormous screens, especially at the Hilton. It's split screen and like watching in a good sized movie theater.
