Samsung passes Apple in U.S. smartphone market - report
Cavuto: What has happened with Apple?
What the heck has happened to Apple?

It's gone from cool to fool faster than me rifling through a Ponderosa buffet.

And full disclosure here, I say this as a decades-long Apple shareholder.

I love the company, and I love its products. I just don't love what's been happening to the company and what's been happening to its products.

It and they have lost their cachet--their coolness.

Maybe this was inevitable after the death of Steve Jobs.

Maybe Samsung and its array of Galaxy phones, including the incredibly hot S4 device that apparently can do everything but make your breakfast is just eating Apple's lunch.

I don't know.

This much I do.

Apple has lost its cool. Its must-have status.

No wonder it's now considering cheaper iPhones.

The days of Apple charging whatever it wants, because they know you'll want it more are over.

And unless Apple gets that magic back, you can stick a fork in this fabled phenomenon now.

Because when people think you've lost your mojo, more things happen to confirm you've lost your mojo.

Sales slip, products get bad reviews, competitors' sales soar, and their products get good reviews.

And suddenly the world that was your oyster has slammed shut on your future.

I'm not saying it's too late to pry it back open. I am saying if Apple doesn't move fast--

It's done--open and shut oyster case.

It would be silly to assume Apple engineers are not busy building the next big thing while Korea and China stay busy catching up with unimaginative copycat products. We've seen this happen over and over again...

Just waiting to see what the next big Apple launch is...

I like feeling elite.. thats why i DIDNT get the iphone. I got a Nexus 4. and it was wayyy cheaper off contract and does a million things the iphone can't.

-TI-83 through 89 calculators
-Gameboy advanced emulator
-Battery saving app that makes my battery super juiced by turning off features im not using
-ultra-customizable interface
-not having to get my music through itunes

-more free apps
-chrome browser is super fast and doesn't leave me stuck w/ mobile versions of sites
-bigger screen
-and a billion other tech nerd things.

If i was old and just wanted a phone to call, text, and take pictures... id go with iphone
its the best cell phone but i actually want the best smart phone

I don't see the point of this article if it dosen't include Apple stores, Best buy, Walmart, etc.

iPhone is the new Sidekick.......
Whoah. Slow it down young man

When making statements like these, maybe we should ask:
How many sidekicks were sold total and what is the installed based of apps? Did it have cloud infrastructure to support data storage and marketplace? What is the switching cost?

A bunch of sh*t most people don't care about.

Anyone worry about trojans and viruses coming with Android apps? Side effect of getting free apps not approved by the vendor (I.e vendor). If someone was a total d*ck, He would write an RSVP/autocart app that sends your private info to some mafia in Russia.

Shocking.......not!!

Samsung always been > then Apple..nuthin new here
Not really. I remember people complaining about their Samsung phones a few years ago.
I started with the Galaxy back in the day and went thru the S1-S4 and ive never had any issues and i dont see a phone beatin it right now..i have the HTC One for my work phone and i like that 1 also its just not as big

When people say that they know people with iPhones that think they are better/richer or whatever then others, are they they talking about kids or younger people? I swear I have never seen this persona with iPhone users and I work with tons of people that do have iPhones and the wierd thing is, they are rich and make good money. I just don't think actual rich people think their phones are what makes them high class. Cars on the other hand.......
