R.I.P Trayvon

Man,I've tried to watch the trial but for some reason I just can't watch it no longer than a few minutes because it just reconfirms that there is no justice in this justice system for us with the way it is setup and ran;Never has been in all actuality but I won't say that there hasn't been small but effective defeats that have helped people of color but overall it's a **** up system that does more harm than good when it comes to people of color,the poor and the people who choose to be deaf,dumb & blind to all the injustices.But more than anything I hope and pray that my people don't have their hopes up so high in the name of justice that if Zimmerman is found not guilty that it will cause some of us to take justice into our own hands which will be exactly what some people would want to see happen just so they can make more examples out of you and I don't want that to again.
People in America know in their hearts of hearts that what Zimmerman did was wrong,we all know that he was racially profiling Trayvon which lead to his death.A high school kid who should now be looking forward to prom,graduation,dating,first job,possibly college but instead his family,friends and a good majority of Americans are seeking justice for someone who did nothing wrong but be a black male with a hood on do to it raining that evening at the right place(his fathers home) but being hounded by the wrong type of person:a predator.

I do agree they should've hit him with a manslaughter charge and not murder....he didnt go out there to kill the kid...he just tried being an authority figure and harass the kid...got his *** whooped, got shook, and shot him ....but he's a lowlife for letting color fuel that

Manslaughter fits...damn shame he will prob get off cause they went at him with the wrong charge

Doesn't matter. A 9-1-1 operator might also suggest you administer CPR. If you decline, you think you disregarding the operator's suggestion is going to make you liable in the court of law? Her advice is just that. ADVICE. She definitely isn't some sort of sworn LEO. She can not "order" someone to do something. She had about as much authority as the pizza hut delivery boy you mentioned.

Actually in Cali ur are liable if u let someone die when u could have did something to prevent. I forgot what it's called. I also MAY have my facts wrong

Nah. There's only Good Samaritan Laws that protect you from damages if you willingly aid someone in distress and they pass, are injured further, etc. (unless gross negligence occurs).

There's no law that forces you to perform CPR. Calling 9-1-1 is your duty however.

I'm a First Aid First Responder and CPR certified and have been encouraged NOT to perform CPR unless I have a protective mouthguard, which I think is a little ridiculous.

To me manslaughter means mistake, this was no mistake.
It wasn't planned but it wasn't a mistake.

To me he pulled that trigger in rage not in fear.
In the words of the sexy john guy prosecutor "he killed him because he wanted to not because he had to"



Can you even lessen the charge when he wasn't originally indicted for it?

Not necessarily true. Voluntary manslaughter is the intentional killing in the midst of a provocation, so this could easily fall under that Florida statute.

At the very least, he'll be hit with a wrongful death suit by the Martin family in civil court.

I don't want to see riots after this verdict

I wanted to see riots when this 1st kicked off

We knew that dude was guilty since this began

Who shoots and kills somebody but they test the dead victim for drugs and not the shooter

He goes home as a hero

Instead of burning his house to the ground and everybody in it

Everybody wanted to march to have a day in court just to get slapped in the face with a not guilty verdict cuz his daddy a judge

So when this is over and dude walks I won't be mad cuz we got what we marched for

a day in court with the judges son

Just to get slapped in the face that yo marching and protesting don't mean a damn thing

So deal with it

I hope nobody else loses their life over this ignorant nonsense cuz we should have acted a fool when it 1st started
 
Obviously this case is emotional for people because of the alleged race issue involved. The fact is, after the first week, the State is presenting a poor case. These are their witnesses that are backfiring on them. The witnesses that said Trayvon was on the bottom didnt actually see, it was raining, it was dark. The only person (John Good) saw the fight and claimed that he saw Zimmerman on the ground, as evidenced by the first police officer stating that that the back of his jacket and his jeans were wet.

The Martin family attorney has been on HLN and CNN even saying the Prosecution is presenting a poor case. It seemed today that the Prosecution stopped trying to prove that Zimmerman was in fact the "aggressor" and started trying to prove that Zimmerman used improper force by shooting Trayvon.


From the past week and witness testimony, along with Zimmerman claiming he "lost sight" of Trayvon, it seems that Trayvon got pissed off that some dude was following him (understandably so), hid from him in the dark, and confronted him. They fought, the bigger guy, Trayvon (family said he was 6'2) took down the 5'7 Zimmerman and wooped his ***, Zimmerman reached for his gun and shot him.


The State will lose this case because they overreached on the charges (again). No way they convict of 2nd Degree murder. The Prosecution will try to say he had "no regard for Trayvon's life", but the testimony hasnt proved that yet.

I think he's stated that he was wearing the gun and forgot he was wearing it. I.e. it was always on his person. WEaring the gun does not mean that his intention was to kill though. That's a serious reach.



I think one thing that hasn't been emphasized enough in this thread are that the jurors were pretty much oblivious (or at least should have been) to the whole situation going in to the trial. They didn't have the same prior knowledge and exposure to the facts and interpretations of the facts that we have. They're going solely off what the witnesses are saying and the evidence presented in court. Therefore, I think they're somewhat oblivious to some of the larger issues of race surrounding the event and the trial. Keep in mind that many of us have been blasted by the media with different information on the case resulting in a lot of early judgement. To accurately evaluate the result of the case, it's necessary to strip yourself of your preconceptions about what happened and sit down and follow what's being presented in the courtroom.

The funny thing is, Zimmerman was high; but since it was "prescribed drugs" it'll be thrown out of the jurisdiction.

Which would lead to more african americans dead, injured, incarcerated, on probation, and ultimately stereotyped further by the justice system and white america. Brilliant concept Mr. Luther King. Have you ever thought about running for office?
