R.I.P Trayvon

O'Mara gets on my ******g nerves....

I know it's his job to be a manipulator but the way and tone in which he does it is annoying as ****...

Agreed. You can't reason with unreasonable people. They only want to see it one way. Not how the law works.
the jurors are people, too..... they, too, have emotion....

yes, they're instructed to simply go on facts, but at the end of the day their emotions are going to play a big part in this .....

and how can people watching not be emotional? put one of your family members in TM's shoes... put yourself there

being emotional w/o any facts and basing it on race or other factors would be irrational, i agree....  but after hearing this man's account of the story I don't see how anyone can say he's innocent

I don't think he set out to murder anyone.... what he did was try to play toy cop and ended up making a huge mistake... this is a case of bad judgement

No one said people shouldn't have an emotional stock in the case. That's irrelevant.

I'm talking about the fact that people can't be mature enough to entertain alternative scenarios or apply Florida case law to this trial on an online discussion forum is sad.

People being called racist because they're not demanding GZ's head :smh:

^^ The reason why ppl have become "emotionally attached" to this case is because America has a history of other races killing black males and just skating off through the court system with a slap on the wrist if that. What kinda precedence does is set if Zimmerman gets off? Basically saying it's "okay" as a grown man to follow a teenager and shoot and kill him when he chooses to defend himself.

You may not understand that because you're logical and don't hold prejudice, but there's a LOT of ppl in this country who would think it's "open season" on young black males because of the precedence set by the ruling in this case.  Just take a minute to look through the comments on any website regarding the case, or even Twitter for that matter it's a lot of sick people. I've seen everything from "i'm glad that n-word's dead" "he deserved to die, he wasn't going to do anything in life anyways" "I would've killed him to if he was in my neighborhood".

So you have to understand the context first to recognize while people may seem "emotionally attached".

Stand your ground seems to work for everybody but black people Marissa Alexander ^

20 years for standing her ground and firing a warning shot

so take your law and shove it

No doubt. I understand why people are glued to this case. I'm glad people are actually concerned with justice.

To me, this is more a Florida issue than anything else. And whatever states have the "stand your ground" statutes.

Can't do it, won't do it. I honestly believe people should be required to link confirmed Facebook accounts to their usernames on these comment boards. They feel waaaay to gully spewing hate from the comfort of their home.

I've had to check people in the past in person because they said hateful racist things. "**** unless you're gonna do something about it or say it to someone's face" type of thing.

So you have to understand the context first to recognize while people may seem "emotionally attached".

I understand full well. That's not my issue. My issue is not being able to separate oneself from that emotion for the sake of the trial and debate.

^True. Respect. I just wanted to clear that up for the persons on NT.  I just want to say tho, a lot of the ignorant comments I've seen have been linked to actual FB accounts, full name and all, that was concerns me.

In another news, I'm glad somebody finally pointed out there was a address on the house right where he got out his car.

Serino seemed out for GZ's neck during the interviews, but on the stand he seem a bit reluctant to call him out on his BS....

im wondering how Serino went from Detective back down to patrol officer....

since we're all about scenarios in here, is he being pressured to be favorable to GZ?  he was pressured to make an arrest, so could he now be pressured to turn for the Defense....

Anybody receiving their fair share of a qtr mill

Will probably cooperate with the distributors request

O'Mara just basically co-signed the profiling aspect of the case.....

"another young black male... tall, skinny.... was arrested for burglary months earlier"

hmm... but GZ wasn't profiling... gotcha.

and smh @ trying to downplay the words GZ used... so if i call a woman a dirty little **** in a soft, matter of fact type manner i have no ill will towards her... oh ok.

jesus christ.... now TM had a weapon they found in the bushes FIVE DAYS later.... lol... this defense team is a mess man

Unless there prints on the slim jim, pretty useless.

GZ said there have been break-ins, could have belonged to anyone.

Good of him to put that in the mind of the jury though.

O'Mara trying to suggest GZ's use of "a-hole" may have not been spiteful

 like c'mon son comparing it to cops coming in the station talking about dinner. Now he's reaching about Trayvon possibly having a slim Jim?!? This is the stuff that's annoying he's profiling him and now claiming that GZ was right to fear bc there was a break in recently...yet objected to de la Rionda calling it profiling....I know these are law technicalities but this is brutal to have them insinuate a black kid would break into something just because there was a black kid who did that before.

A white guy broke into my dads car when I was 14 and he got caught....I didn't call the cops or fear every time I see a white guy I didn't know near my car. Ugh.

He can only do so much with the directed questions he is getting from O'Mara.... It should become more clear, his stance at least, when the prosecution does the redirect...

This is going to come down to what the Jury thinks. While I do feel the Prosecution is presenting a poor case, it is still possible that the Jury can say "Well, Zimmerman should have been minding his own business, thus shooting Trayvon was avoidable.".

As far as Zimmerman's inconsistencies go, you had 2 detectives that said his inconsistencies werent noteworthy enough to cause a concern, so hammering away that really isnt going to help. The overall story stayed the same.
