Is there a chance that Zimmerman would be tried for manslaughter if he walks on 2nd degree murder charges?

Seems it would be a much easier conviction, but I don't know enough about law to know how that works.

He may already be being charged with it. When the state files suit, it is typically on several charges. The lesser charges merge with the most severe for sentencing which is why everyone is stating 2nd degree murder.

EDIT: He may also be acquitted on the criminal charges and liable for civil charges

He doesn't have to be re-tried if this Jury doesn't feel they can convict him of 2nd degree murder they can convict him of manslaughter or find him not guilty of any crime.

I already assumed that after the trial, the sanford pd and zimmerman would be brought up on civil charges by TM's family

This whole Bao ordeal is hilarious.

Definitely not a great look for the prosecution, but I can see how he wouldn't remember anything from the autopsy. This guy looks at dead bodies every day....eventually I'd think it all sort of runs together. And it isn't like when the autopsy occurred, he had any clue it would get this much attention.

Nevertheless, this guy is comedic gold. My dude said "Or the bag removed from the body".
