+++OFFICIAL JAY Z THREAD+++

Never heard an Earl Sweatshirt song in my life.

I need Hov and Beyonce to do a project together, they have yet to miss. Inb4 03 Bonnie and Clyde mentions like that song sucked when it really didnt.
Has Jay-z ever made a bad song to you? If there was a top 5 for his worst songs ever then that song would be there. What is good about it? Stole the beat from Pac, changed the whole concept of the song to a corny love song.

I mean it's cringe worthy.

With the corny video to go with it.

He has, that song isnt one of them however. I've siad it several times on here, I'm not usually a fan of rap songs about women and being in love. They always seem forced and unnatural but that song isnt one of them. Its a really good song.

^^^

It's not a good song at all, regardless of whether it does or doesn't seem "forced or unnatural". It's incredibly average in every way.

There are literally dozens of rap songs about women or being in love that are much better.

 at you not being a fan of those. I bet you'd be a fan of a song about being in love with Jay Z though.

And that's not strange at all.....

wordplay? introspection? honesty? relatability?

joey bad*** is much better than what u hear there?

shrug.

Earl has a right to state his opinion.  and he's good enough that he overcomes the "whatever, you can't even rap" rebuttal.

Artist - "MCHG is a boring album."

NT Fan response - "Haven't listened to their music before but they must be trash!!!"

i.e. Hud-Mo and Earl. Hilarious

I didnt say he was trash though, just that it's funny how he said that that wants people to get his music because it's good, and not because of who he is when the two go hand in hand. I've heard the name but not enough to warrant listening to him.

I dont **** with Earl or any of odd future besides frank one bit

But he was right with what he said

It continues to amaze me how ignorant some of you can be at times. Its like any time anyone introduces something other than your basic every day rapper, instead of actually listen to it, you skim through it and just mark it off as trash. Anyways, Earl has the right to say whatever dude feels like. Only reason everyone is crying about it is because is because he's going against one of the greatest. But the reality of it all is that there's nothing great about this album.

I've listened to this **** back and fourth so many times and I do not understand it. Jay-Z is one of my favorite rappers ever, and arguably the greatest, but this isn't the work to prove that. The majority of this album sounds super uninspired. Dude is bragging about the same **** over again and people are swallowing it up like its the next Blueprint. There are def. some great tracks on here, but the majority of it just sounds bland and repetitive. A lot of people are just caught in the hype and everything that lead to this album that no matter what it was going to blow their minds. But the sad truth is, there's not much to it.

I just like music, dudes too introspective with this ish on some music nazi stuff
I like OF when I am in the mood for ignorant ish, reminds of the days of D12
Everybody has a right to their opinion, I like MCHG and Yeezus
Stop making everything so damn elite, just enjoy it for what it is
"Even my old fans like old man just stop
I could if I would but I can't
I'm hot, and you blow"
Lol

... I'm not sure that beat's good.  Maybe it's just the way it comes through on youtube but I can't hear Jay on that.

Just cuz the sample says "Brooklyn's on the way" doesn't mean it'd be a good fit...

p.s. is it me or does every j. cole beat sound the same...

To me, there is nothing remarkable or refreshing about Odd Future. If you think that makes me ignorant, so be it.

My opinion on that whole group was formed well before Earl said that stuff on twitter.

And I don't like that J. Cole beat either...sounds something like the opening credits to a Disney Channel show from '94.

Thats pretty unfair, not saying its not OK to not like them though. You ever listen to anyone besides Earl and Tyler?

I really wish he would get more outside production.

he has an excellent relationship with No ID, he got the Carolina connection with 9th, and certainly Jay could get Just to throw him some beats.

How is that unfair?

I've heard a ton of their music.

The Domo Genesis tape with ALC is one of the other bright spots in their catalog
