it's only for animals and children. I eat meat, I've seen how they **** the animals up, but at least I'm getting food out of it.
this is just cruel for no reason.
People get bullets put in them every day, but people can defend themselves. People actively purchase guns, and when they shoot people it's generally to kill. this is called torture.

if a person was kept in a cage, shot full of BBs, and then saved...trust me, it would be newsworthy. people who get murdered usually make it on the news.
people dying in gunfights? **** them...who cares. but innocent people and animals? both newsworthy.

i'm not talking about the right punishment for this dude or anything. you said it's not newsworthy. it is newsworthy. dogs have value in american society. whether or not you believe that's valid or not, it's true. someone doing this is going to get on the news. and let's not act like this was some massive national news story...i'm hearing about it only because dude made this thread. i listen to the radio all day at work, not one mention of it. i'm from new england originally, not one person mentioned it to me. so it's not like taking over the national news scene.
deer are hunted. cows are slaughtered for food. these animals aren't kept around living in pain and tortured. they're killed and eaten. totally different. again, if they find someone keeping animals around and torturing them for fun, you'll hear about that too.
the soldier killing innocent people argument is beyond old. what we hear or don't hear from our govt and from other governments is so twisted, who really knows the truth anymore. that's more an issue with your (not you specifically, but people in general) beliefs on where america should be sticking its nose rather than what is newsworthy or not.
