Ray Donovan; new series on showtime

The scene at the reception when ray is looking at his family and it's a happy time was well done. Few and far between for all of them.

This is what won him over in my view.

I know that feeling, that's all that matters. He played it well, it was written well. One or both I don't care, I felt that.

Great episode. Can someone tell me what the dude in the office that found out Rays is getting 3% off the team is doing? What is he trying to find dirt on?

Ray exposed him last season and he ended up losing his job and working a low level job job.

I actually wish there was a scene with Ray and Teresa to show that he now trusts her or they came to an understanding to at least justify that toast he gave where he said just looking at them together seems right.

Their entire interaction has been Ray not leaning one way or the other on her, lying to her and her barking on him about how they treat Bunchy.

I think what turned Ray was her bringing him his socks as a backup. That interaction seemed to be the catalyst at least in my opinion. He was already looking to get him his money early in the episode anyway after talking to his accountant who was against the idea.
Yeah that was probably it but I still had it in mind how eager he was to have his ppl background check her whole fam and how at the office he was insistent on them checking again and again for any red flags so he could just call the whole thing off.

If only to be prepared, like Terry had alluded to about Bunchy ******* up.
I agree about the socks scene, that probably is when Ray felt more comfortable. But that still doesn't take away from the fact he already had the check. So are we to assume he was already going to give him the check or he was waiting for a sign? Both seem very unlike Ray.
I think he was going to give it to Bunchy at some point regardless.

His job isn't all the way clear but he's some investigator for what I think is a management company (I'm forgetting the specific title I want to use for these sorts of companies). The glorified middlemen of business that get deals done between two parties.

From what the boss and the lady were talking about, they handle the big contracts with the NFL and were having a hard time finding some rich eccentric type to sign something or okay something with this NFL team's sale. So they brought in the FBI guy to I assume double check everything. Him seeing Ray's name in the files isn't a sign of anything in particular as far as what he's going to do but that he sees Ray has motivated him to really look in to this and start investigating why Ray is getting 3% and try to give him a hard time.

I assume he's in a position that could potentially **** up the whole sale.

ask @Master Zik  He somehow retains even the simple details that we often forget(no shade)

I could only say, "Hank is back". I can't explain and break it like Zik does

He got played at the end of season 2/3. He used  to run LAPD. He is the one that was married to (real name Sherilyn Fenn) the chick who was having orgies and what not with that young detective that worked under him.

Him getting handed that file is big because Ray really F'd him. He was Cochran, he was really important until Ray played him hard

Myyyyyyyyy GOD I'm an idiot. Swear on everything in recognized him off top but couldn't remember who he was lol. I remember seeing him in a major role recently, but completely forgot he was the big wig FBI dude in LA. had me checking IMDB and all that lol.

I knew there had to be a reason he got all goofy when he sawas Ray in the file.

Thank god for NT. ::e-dap::

Daryll really trying to save a prostitute though, suburban rich kid problems... I really like the acting by Christy Williams though, she plays the role really good and looks the part.

This subplot is underrated writing and casting.

-lol, cochran back.. i think the company he's working for is an investigative service hired by the NFL because they mentioned about how they couldn't find the minority shareholder [varick] ...i bet he's going to try his best to link varick's disappearance back to ray after seeing his name...i mean afterall he's got a huuuuuge chip on his shoulder.. those daily affirmations were hilarious.

-it's time to give conner a storyline, whatever happened to him working out at the gym, whatever happened to him & that movie star guy, this bridget storyline is creepy as **** to me.

-i'm glad to see avi back in, the entire gang is here, lena is so sexy !!!!

-i think ray knows bunchy is in good hands with teresa, but sadly bunchy became a true donovan on the day of his wedding, he always dabbled, but by lying to teresa before they tied the knot, he went into this marriage dishonestly. terry couldn't even go into a new love like that, which is why things fell apart between him & francis. he told her too much, she couldn't handle it, & she left. but also if she does up & leave bunchy dry, bunchy can't run & cry to ray about him not being able to make "adult decisions" anymore, that's the way i look at it.

And it hasn't been mentioned yet but the person that the company is looking for is Varrick. The guy Papa Finney killed. So the murder cover up will be coming back.

I don't remember these guys (new characters) names so I didn't put those two things together.

My other posts I was wrestling back in forth with whether or not Azaria's character's name was Cochran or if the Johnnie Cochran law firm commercial was just messing with my head :smh:

Yeah good catch, with Varick dead that'll be brought back up and with Cochran going hard against Ray it'll probably have Finney shook even though dude is looking to screw Ray.

If this was anyone else, the investigator gets paid off. Cochran might use this to try and get a come up

See I forgot about ol dude. But now I recognize him from swinging with his wife. Your right. Should be interesting to see how he interferes with the deal.

We all know how Ray feels about child molesters. Kenneth Cosgrove is about to get bodied.

WTF arvi? Why in the hell would you keep that thang? Cochran got revenge in his eyes. How long before they send the pic to get him fired? Will Ray actually kill him this time?

Man, somebody give Hank Azaria a job. Son has been GREAT since he came back. It was just getting to know him last season but he's very entertaining as this jerk off bad guy. The whole pretending to be Avi scene  He should be getting mad offers from this. Writing wise it looked a bit weak to bring back a guy as the antagonist for this season at this point in the season but I'm happy they brought the character back just to see Azaria do his thing.

I assume the fire place poker was kept to one day blackmail Finney if he went against Ray. Same way they dumped the preist's body in the foundation of Ezra's hospital.

Daryl need to get his **** together and stop simping. Only Donovan with nothing going on and really got no initiative. Talking about Oprah and whispers :smh:

They're still leading to this Terry and Abby relationship  :smh: It's so blatant at this point I'm hoping there's a twist there. Cuz this is them orbiting a jumping the shark black hole.

I couldn't be sure but was that Sarah Shahi playing the Armenian singer? :nerd: She was looking good.

Liked how Ray played Mickey. This **** still gonna end partially bad for them with the Minassian son seeing the detective and knowing Mickey probably snitched.

I need a gif of Avi dancing

Episode was on point. Very sharp. Very clever.
I knew Avi flying to Belize under Varick Strauss' name was going to be risky. Why would they do that and expect to not have photos brought up, once they started looking for Strauss.

Ray is fizzucked
Can't wait to see how he gets out of this one.

Is it just me or is Darryl starting out like Ray? Didn't Ray, after being screwed over by Mick, just grab Abby and leave Boston for the West Coast? I seem to remember Ray and Terry hinting at that, or talking about it, in a previous season.

Could be that it isn't the poker that Finney used to kill Varrick. Was there a scene with Avi storing it in that room, or telling Ray he did? I guess there's a good purpose of keeping it for possible blackmailing purposes.
