After re-watching this was definitely the 2nd best ep I watched last night behind BB.
The feels when Ray said "NOT IF!!!! NO ******G IFS!!!!!!"
That was the writer's laying the seeds for that reveal down the line.

I think like in the first damn ep, Ray has a dream about being in a car and the driver puts his head down (Ray as a kid) in his lap hinting heavily at fellatio. I think he wakes up like it's a nightmare.

I don't know how, maybe I misheard something but I think it was the same ep where the daughter blurted out at breakfast about how Bunchy was molested as a child and the whole them not being exposed to religion. I kinda continued to connect the dots that Ray was molested as well.
I know after she said I was assuming all the brothers were and that's why Mickey was in jail until we found out about Terry and Mickey getting framed.

so should I start watching this? I watched the first episode and liked it but then went on vacation and completely forgot about it since I stopped watching Dexter.

Yeah I figured that Bunchy wasn't the only brother that got a molested.
Amazing episode.
Ray blaming himself for what Father O'Connor did to Bunchy because he went to the ballgame with Mickey (or attempted to at least). He wasn't there to protect Bunchy, not by physically stopping O'Connor from molesting him but by being molested himself so Bunchy wouldn't have been. The "I loved you Ray." comment O'Connor made to Ray that set him off hints that Ray was his favorite victim and since Ray wasn't there because he went to the ballgame, O'Connor used Bunchy as a proxy.
Ray is as emotionally scarred as Bunchy is. He just does a better job of hiding it behind his facade. He let his wall down when he told Abby what happened to him, but put it right back up when she tried to console him. This episode also gave another glimpse as to why Ray has such a deep rooted hatred of Mickey. Not only did Mickey disappoint Ray by standing him up for the game, but he indirectly caused Bunchy's sexual abuse, because Ray would have been the one receiving abuse instead of Bunchy had he been home.

Surprised more people aren't watching. This show is fire.
Not surprised at all by the revelation, but it does tie everything together as far as how he's viewed now by his brothers and wife.

Had the last 2 previous weeks on dvr & didn't have time to watch them until last night. Caught up but proly won't be able to watch tonight's season finale until tomorrow or Tuesday night.
Very well written toine2983. I found Bunchy's explanation of why O'Connor molested him heartbreaking. Actor Dash Mihok did a phenomenal job in that episode & deserves an Emmy nomination. I swear I just wanna punch Mikey in the face, that snake in the grass has everything go his way including Claudette coming through for him. It was interesting that he stole money from Sully to give to her to get out & start a new life yet he could give 2 s**ts about Ray, Bunchy, Terry, & Colleen...

He says Ray was his favorite and says he knew he could take care of himself and the other brothers don't know how truthful that was but the last episode was great and tied up the whole first season beautifully.

That was a great season finale and really good season overall.
I knew what Mickey was gonna do once he got a gun in his hands

Great 1st season ..i like they way they left open some possible story lines for next season (Terry girl knowing about the priest being killed, The Priest still missing, That one agent death still not resolved, Mickey not leaving etc. )

I thought the show had some serious ups and downs. It's an entertaining watch, partially because of how many strong actors they have on the cast. The storyline really started to come together in the last 2/3 episodes. I'd give it a 6.5/10 so far. I'm curious to see what they do in Season 2.
