Ray Donovan; new series on showtime

Thought y'all knew that.

First time he was in an episode I wasn't quite sure if that was him.

He looked familiar but I didn't know from where. Hated toliver's punk self.

Was on vacation for awhile, so I just watched the last 3 episodes consecutively. Awesome. This show is just too good. The opening 3 eps ago was hot!

The second one seemed like a filler, but it picked up again this last episode. This show has my attention. Excited to see where it goes the rest of the season.

gotta give the actress her props although her character is basically exactly the same person as she was in brotherhood

if your character is a wife from boston, shes it

I don't recall seeing Abby on brotherhood. WHo was her character?

So messed up.

It's the way she goes about it. That's annoying. It's like she can't understand Ray has issues. Real life issues, she keeps thinking this'll be fixed with a few therapist sessions and by playing dumb.

She definitely has an issue with his work. She complains about what he actually does all the time with her snide comments.

Ray obvious has faults but given with what he has to deal with on a daily basis, especially since Mickey came back I do not slight him more than certain others.

They are both to blame, her for not listening to Ray when he told her keep Mickey out of their lives. Ray is an *******, but he still loves his family. I look at him like Nucky. They don't know how to love except to give people things [money or whatever they need}. They feel like once they do that all problems are solved. Abby has been patient, during the first two episodes she was defending Ray, while the therapist was spitting the truth. She became more patient with him after finding out he was molested. There is only so much a person can take.

Marvin wanted a better life but didn't get it in the end. I don't think there was anything he could've done to not get killed other than not demonstrate his talent. As much as dudes hated his character I thought it was sad that he was seen as property that could be bought and sold to the highest bidder.

He definitely got to experience a better life, in the first season he was neighbors with Ray. It was short lived, but he got a taste and was on his way to much more. The fighting over him is what really disgusted me. Lee and Cookie saw him as property while Recon/Monk truly loved him as a son :smh:.

I don't get why they had to sign him over to Cookie. Why not just give Cookie his publishing and be done with it? That would make more sense for Cookie, he isn't in the music biz. Let them do all the heavy lifting while I get paid off their hard work.

i feel like recon should have known how cookie would handle it

i guess lee didnt even tell recon he tried to pay and instead insulted cookie like that

I'm confused about that too. At first I thought Recon didn't know, but when Marvin said to Cookie that he will work for him, or be down with him. I figured they had a discussion about the situation since Marvin knew. Either way Recon was slipping.

I agree that he did get a taste of a better life it just seemed like he was doomed to fail. Nothing he could've done to not get killed. Rekon sealed his fate the moment he took 30k from cookie.

Marvin was treated like property from the very beginning. His mom, Ray, Lee, Rekon all treated him that way. I always felt that the main reason he liked Bridgette was she treated him like a person.

What was the arrangement Cookie and Recon had though?

I don't think Ray met his match with Cookie. The jury is still out on that. I just think he underestimated him.

None of that is true because there was no real battle. Ray was under the impression that Lee would give Marvin over to Cookie, none of what happened is about Ray.

I just finished watching it again and saw where Abby said she didn't want the house. That only makes me dislike the character more. Just asking for **** just to do it.

I don't feel Rekon sealed his fate. It was Lee. cookie made it clear he didn't want money.

Abby doesn't wan the hous anymore because the family is done, and she doesn't fit in with the yuppies out there. After threatning to have them killed by Ray, and now being in an affair that Ray knows about it makes no sense. Also she finally realises what accepting the house would mean for her.

Ray's true motivation was giving Marvin to Cookie so that he'd be away from his daughter otherwise I don't think he would have be up for it

Word. If Marvin wasn't trying to smash his daughter he would have done whatever Lee asked of him. Cookie would be the one laying dead in the truck now if that wasn't the case.

Thought y'all knew that.

I did the Weebay gif when I first saw him. All I can think about is that fight with Eli.

^ I just looked her up on wikipedia, because she looked crazy familiar to me and i couldnt place her.  Then i realized, she was John Tellers Irish BM from Sons Of Anarchy.

My god that is Tolliver's ***** ***, that explains why I had a unnatural dislike for him as soon as he popped up. Tried to hide underneath that beard, nahhhhh cats recognized you. I hated him in BE.

I hope Ray gives him that work like Eli did.

I recognized ol' boy from BE immediately.

Interesting because I always thought his character was similar to the dude that pushed up on Gillian last season on BE to get her to confess to killing Jimmy.

Basically pushing up on the lonely woman to get her to spill info.

Yeah I thought the exact same.

I no him from other stuff in the past as well  but it wasn't like it was worth mentioning.

I just wanted to share something. Sherilyn Fenn.....

She is 49 and plays the wife of Agent Cochran. And is basically meant to be unattractive in her role.

But damn yo....a youngin' was sprung on Sherilyn Fenn back in the day.

She did a movie in the late 80's called Two Moon Junction that I remember seeing when I was way too young to be watching it.

And was FANTASTIC in it. She had bleached blond hair in the flick, and the drapes didn't match the rug, if you catch my drift.

And I was mesmerized by that **** for some reason.

She also dated Prince back during that time. And Prince don't really rock with "unattractive" in his stable.

She was bad. I most certainly would still.

And yes I've been 1st week of Football drinking.

If Ray would have answered Bridget's phone when Abby called (before the son told her they got killed ) she wouldn't have got as upset and called the cop...

Ray wanted someone to talk to and ironically that crazy author dude is the only one who can't break down Ray's defense and get him to talk even if it's only a little.

The mom is triflin for letting the kid call him uncle and help him out of the bath. Bunchy is a idiot for doing it and not just keeping it 100 about why he can't smash. Instead he goes into full creep mode.

I feel stupid for not realizing that was Claudette's husband that Micky choked out at the party :smh:

Man I wash my hands of Abby. I'm done with her. I've tried to see things from her side all season but she crossed the line tonight. Inviting that mark *** buster to Ray's house to talk to Ray's child?!?! So damn disrespectful. An then to act all indignant about it in the police station. Disgusting.

Am I the only one that thinks Ray came off like a suckered for letting Cookie hug Bridget? I would have snatched her away and warned him to never touch my child. Kind of like how he did to Tolliver's ***** ***.

Question, why won't Ray and Avi just merk Cookie and be done with it all? That would solve everyone's problem.

That would be stupid actually... as far as Cookie is concerned he didn't do anything to Bridget so going off would definitely raise Cookie's suspicion

They do a lot of dirt but they aren't murders. As you can see killing people brings police attention which isn't good for business. I'm thinking Cookie killed Marvin basically as a alibi...so he's crazy and clever. Ray and Co. aren't build for that.

Makes sense as why you don't see how Ray's stupidity is at the root most issues on this show...directly or indirectly. By not answering that phone call from Abby to Bridget he set off the chain of events that led to the cop being called/coming to the house. If he answered he could have calmed her down.

And not burning that jacket was REALLY stupid. :smh:

So did Bunchy get excited is that why he threw the kid?

Wow I didn't realize that was Claudette's husband either. I'm glad she finally let Mickey have it.

What the heck was that at the end? Were they about to have a threesome?

And was the dude in jail touching himself to the reporter visiting?

Not sure...I think the kid trying to wrap his legs around him creeped him out.

Ray went over there to smash because that's how he copes that fell through because her bf was there...

That's why he was like :\ :frown: and went in. Wonder how long it will take dude to find out Ray was molested...

Probably
