Realllllly? I thought there'd be a clause, a don't shoot people in the back of the head over dime bags, clause or somethin to protect themselves from stuff like this.
I didn't realize the CBA would lock in so much of the gauranteed money with this type of escape.

Well yes, football players are probably the dumbest dudes from the major sports.
However an NFL team roster can have 75 players at a time while the NBA has like 12-15 players.
Of course there's more room for error in the NFL, there's just so many individuals.

I know NT likes to get on the Patriots for their apparent cutthroat nature with their players and "The Patriot Way" and all that, but I can't see how anyone could be upset about them releasing Aaron Hernandez.
At this point it's a foregone conclusion that Hernandez was involved in that dude's murder, even Stevie Wonder could see that. And like it has been mentioned already in this thread, the fact that the Patriots released him so quickly after his arrest tells you that they probably know more about his upcoming charges, and that they're more serious than obstruction of justice.
