You must be talking about Melvin Alaeze.. my fam is Nigerian and from the area as well, that was big news in the community when it happened. SMHJust look up the #1 D lineman from Baltimore in 2005...Yup the fact that he was there and they got texts, cameras, etc he definitely gonna do some prison time,,right now his lwayers are working on how they can beat the murder charge and have him locked up for like 5 years instead of Life
Similar thing happened to my homeboy i grew up with matter fact...he was an All American d lineman, ranked #1 and all that...him and a couple other dudes shot somebody in the head and he still in jail now

Supposedly, Hernandez got mad at the victim for talking to some dudes in the club. And then said "You can't trust anyone anymore"
And they have the victim texting his sister asking "Did you see who I was with?" "NFL.. just so you know" (referring to Hernandez as 'NFL')
It sounds to me like the victim was trying to set Hernandez up in some way, whether it was over drugs or he had some dudes trying to extort him. And Hernandez wasn't having it.
