New Report - Aaron Hernandez Molested as a Child - p. 167

Nah homeboy don't lump all Hispanics together. The Mexican delegation never claimed him, that boy is Puerto Rican.

 This dude Hernandez is causing a rift between the Latino/Hispanic groups. :smh:

Question though srsly...if a Puerto Rican gets elected President would ALL Latinos claim him as their own? :nerd:

Hispanic refers to Spanish speaking countries, so Mexicans are Hispanic. Latinos are people from countries in Latin America. They are pretty much interchangeable.

nah. not really. we only speak a similar language. don't mean hispanics all like one another or are even cool with being lumped into one big group like that

puerto ricans and mexicans for instance are very different

Are Domincans Latino? Or Spanish? According to our famed Domincan, Dominican = Dominican.

I'm so confused now

i won't speak for either group because i'm not in their shoes, but for what it's worth i did research on the topic for a term paper in college.

i've heard that latinos is a "better" term to use because hispanic like you said refers to Spain the mother country. however people in latin american countries don't like to be identified as such because historically the Spanish got there and massacred the indigenous people. hispanic ties them to that ancestry and some don't like that, therefore prefer the term latino to identify themselves with.

Yes Dominicans are Latinos. Spanish people are from Spain so any person that refers to a Latino as "Spanish" is uneducated on the matter,

You are correct about Latino being a better term for the most part, although I think the majority of Latinos/Hispanos are indifferent about either one.

But to get back on topic. Let the record show that Aaron Hernandez is in no way shape or form of Mexican descent, and that he is clearly Puerto Rican.

We haven't claimed Mark Sanchez either, technically he's American. 8)

i doubt americans want to claim sanchez either.

Mark Sanchez isn't Hispanic, Mexican, nor American.

He's Californian, which is way worse.
