"I received my NeverWet and have applied it to several different surfaces. The first product I tried it on was my running shoes. They are made of a mesh that allows for breathability, however, my feet get easily wet in any type of rain when wearing these. After being very impressed with seeing the product in action online, I decided to give it a shot. It was very easy to apply. Just spray a few light coats of the first can, wait, and repeat. 30 minutes later, apply 3-4 light coats of the top coat of can #2. Can #2 definitely leaves a frosted appearance, so don't base results of can #1. After waiting 30 minutes for the top coat to dry, I decided to do a brief test. I sprinkled some water on top of the shoes that were just treated. While the water did bead, some of it also absorbed right through the canvas. I made sure to follow the directions exactly.

After treating my running shoes, I decided to try my work boots. They are a black smooth leather finish. After following the directions and applying the coats, I noticed that while they bead excellently, they had turned my once black boots a frosted blueish color. I expected a frosted black, but not a frosted blue. They do repel water very well now though!

Overall, this product is good. It has a few drawbacks, but if you're willing to make a few sacrifices for a great liquid repellant, I'd highly suggest this product."

sounds like leather is out the question...canvas might be ok but doesnt make em waterproof
