 @ Atkins hating playing with Kobe. No one likes playing with Kobe, its hard, but if your someone like him you should be more grateful. If anything he should of been happy it made him relevant. I can guarantee you the name Chucky Atkins would not be brought up one single time by any NT'er in the entire year of 2013 if he hadnt played with Kobe.

He was probably good friends with Smush
I want to make so many analogies to what you said, but I know they will be taken the wrong way

Make them.
I'm on a train ride passing boring *** Bakersfield, I need entertainment.

Calderon-Monta-Marion-Dirk-Dalembert is damn good. People are underestimating these moves because Calderon, Monta and Dalembert have been stuck in **** situations for a good chunk of their careers. Calderon is a great shooter and passer that's been stuck with not much to work with in Toronto for the past few years, Monta is a legit 20 point scorer and should thrive in a winning, structured environment, and if you play Dalembert 30 minutes he's gonna get you 10, 10 and 2 blocks.

I see you there defending Monta, but you're wrong. The guy plays loser basketball. Period.

Also Dalembert can't average 10 and 10 anymore.

i think monta is cool as 2nd fiddle. When hes your #1 guy then he becomes a problem. Calderon is very underrated. Great shooter, passer, and runs the offense efficiently. If dirk can be dirk, matrix can play solid d, and half man half corpse can bring scoring off the pine they can upset someone.

Dalembert was putting up 20 rebounds in 20 minutes with the Bucks radnomly. I think he can average 8-10 boards with the Mavs.

If Monta plays loser basketball then what do other born chuckers like J.R Smith and to an extent Jamal Crawford who dont have as wide of an offensive skillset as Monta play? Hes always gotten knocked because the teams he plays for are bad but I feel that he will flourish this year.

 Dallas bad too though...

agreed

The Mavs have locked themselves into a perennial 6-10 seed for the next few years with their moves this summer.
Bingo. It was stupid. But I don't think they thought there was any benefit to short-terming contracts again and shooting for the moon again next offseason.

You've gotta have bodies for guys to want to come here. I don't hate the plan/idea, but I don't love doing this with Monta and Calderon at this point. Unless they can lure another legit star here next year, they're stuck somewhere in the 10-15 range in the draft again, which is completely useless.

Who's to say they don't have plans to strike a potential deal mid-season to land another solid scorer to put them in the mix?

Doing the one year contracts thing was not an option at this point and given the talent we now have combined with Carlisle isn't the worse combination in the world, we're for sure playoff bound right now, pull off some sort of move mid-season and we're right where we need to be.

A lot of teams a top the West have made big roster/coaching moves, which is generally not a good thing, anything could happen at this point.

How does Monta play loser basketball? People weren't saying this when he actually had a good team in Golden State with Baron Davis, J-Rich, S-Jax, Barnes, Pietrus and all those dudes. When all them left he didn't have much other choice to chuck. You put him next to two other undersized, shoot first point guards in Jennings and Steph....that definitely wasn't gonna work out. Put him next to a great passer and spot shooter in Calderon, with really good defenders in Marion and Dalembert and an unselfish superstar in Dirk and I think that team can be really good.

I'm really rooting for DJ Kennedy to make a team.

I used to have gym class with him, and had no idea he even hooped until I saw the City Championship team with him, Dejaun Blair, and Greg Blair on it.  It was like a Globetrotter game forreal

I'm not the biggest fan of Monta. I wouldn't want him on my team personally.

However, if there was one good spot for him it was Dallas. I think he works great there especially with a pass first PG in Calderon, instead of Jennings.

Dirk needs someone to kick it to when he's constantly doubled. Monta is a defensive liability and obviously far from a play maker, but if there's one thing he's great at its scoring.

Dirk needed that badly. Dallas needed that. Especially after losing JET.

You can't put all the pressure on Dirk to score in crunch time at his age, he can still produce but he needed a scoring sidekick badly and he has a really good one now.

Obviously the Mavs aren't finals contenders, but the point is they're better. If you want one last push for Dirk before he retires you greatly improved your chances by adding Monta. Obviously they could of made smarter financial choices if they went for the path of rebuilding and focusing on 2014, but they didn't wanna go that way...and they didn't have to.

For Dirks last chance at a ring (no matter how small the chance), I think Monta was a solid Acquisition and a good fit for their team. He doesn't have to create for himself and dribble so much anymore, that's what Calderon is for.

Just my 2 cents.

Nelly is on one of the top songs in the country with the remix to that Cruise song. And he can probably still put out some hits himself right now, he just hasn't really put out much music in a while. Ashanti on the other hand....i don't know who the hell got her on that show and the MLB All Star game. She's been trying to put out music for years and has flopped every time. I thought she was blacklisted from the industry. Plus she's corny as **** and doesn't look that good anymore.
Ashanti got that mass tho :pimp:

where did this Bron to Lakers rumor come from?

Think it was Stephen A who first put it out there and then Ramona Shelborne of ESPNLA confirmed that's what the Lakers plan is anyway going into next summer, to pursue Bron and Melo. SAS also said it was more likely that Melo would leave NY considering their cap strapped situation and he and his wife's affinity for LA, but also was depending on how the season goes in MIA, Bron is 50/50 on leaving the Heat. And if he does there's only a few destinations that could realistically get him, LA and CLE. It's much to do about nothing at this particular point, but we'll see how the season goes.
