God help me if the Sixers hire Michael Curry as their head coach. Heard its down to him and Spurs assistant Brett Brown. Pleaaaaaase be Brown. Curry should be a career assistant....never a HC again.

We've always just stereotypically said that there's more pressure to win in la or ny but why though? The media? The team saying they are gonna win every year? Like where does this "pressure" come from?

I mean they don't win every year, and the knicks haven't won in decades, so where does this pressure and these expectations come from?

Laker(kobe) fans are just delusional and think every year theyre title contenders thats all

I think monta still has a better skill set than Westbrook. .

We've reached a new low in the NBA thread guys. :smh:

the ignorance :smh: ...

ellis isnt better than kemba walker
Come on bruh this is going too far. There can be no middle ground with Monta Ellis it seems.

   @ Monta being the same skills wise as Westbrook

        @ Kemba Walker being better than Monta come on now

i had to go to that extreme when you bring ellis into westbrooks level

hes no where near it & will NEVER be

aaron brooks on his third stint with the rockets
h-town strippers :nerd:

dude is still young, dont understand why there isnt a "demand" for him.
Their roster is getting wierd. I feel like this sets them up to move Lin though :nerd:

People like me on the Lakers side of things.

Not all Laker fans think like I do, in fact most of them despise me, but I demand titles from LA every single year.

I know that's not possible, nor do I care. I expect it.

The confetti was still dropping in 2010 and I was in the 2011 Laker thread talking about what we have to do now, who to sign, get this, do that, etc. The television broadcast was still on, and I was wanting the next title.

I think about 2008, 2004, 1991, 1989, 1984 probably more than the titles they've actually won. It's how I'm wired.

But to answer your question the best, media. Almost anything Lakers will have a HUGE media horde. Look at some pics from when Dwight arrived in LA, standing room only, all you could see were reporters/media. It's non stop.

I can't personally speak for NY, but I know how the Yankees deal with life, it's very similar. Notre Dame football, Duke basketball, etc.

The 1984 title

Other than you and SKA, who were probably in high school back already, ain't no other Lakers fan on NT was even outta diapers yet

They're the biggest media markets. Just about all the news we get is being pumped from those two cities.

I didn't watch the series fool, I'm talking about things I've read, tapes I've seen, replays on classic channels, etc.
I barely know much about the 89 series much less the 84.
91 is the first Laker year I truly understand and remember.

Yall _ talking about nonsense

Lock this **** until the season is a month or 2 away

Seriously.

Nobody trying to hear that ****.

There needs to be a separate thread involving any debates about the Lakers.

Cari Champion was about to cry

"Don't bet against us in 2014"

Lakers won't be bad enough to get Wiggins, Parker, Randle or Gordon, so Laker fans really believe Lebron will go to LA?

They're gonna be hurt more than Knicks fans in 2010.

more hurt than Knick fans in 2010? what are you on?

I dont think REAL Laker fans even care or think hes coming so why would they be hurt? Knick fans had nothing to do but wait for years thinking he was coming 100% sure because he released NY based kicks and wore NY hats

Lakers fans dont care if hes coming or not, if he comes? sure they will love it. if he doesnt? who gives a damn, they arent betting on it or counting down the days like Knick fans did.

Brandon Jennings and Nate Robinson still dont have homes. That is crazy. The two biggest FAs left on the market IMO and theres next to no buzz.

I said repeatedly during the playoffs that Nate wouldn't receive a big payday.

Lotta dudes got too hyped during that Nets series. He has deals on the table from what I've read but his agent seems to think there's a multiyear deal out there for him.

Dudes went from saying Steph ain't better than Monta ******* Ellis to Monta has a better skill set the Westbrook. :smh:

I'm not even crazy about Steph or Westbrook but this Monta Ellis love is crazy. Monta is talented but dude racks up a bunch of empty stats that don't mean ****. These NBA threads are always the most entertaining on NT.

Yeah they're the biggest media market, I get that, but that doesn't account for this "pressure" of playing dor the knicks or the lakers. These media outlets sure don't believe the knicks and lakers are going to win anywhere. And if you're a player of Howard's stature, if you don't win or play well in any city it'll be backlash from the national media. (If this is who assigns this "pressure")

The point I'm getting at is that this pressure that's attached with playing for the lakeshow or the knicks is almost purely stereotypical/the cool thing to say now and not reflective of the real expectations of those teams.

Nate can ball but a 5'8 2 guard is a huge risk with GMs long term, he showed signs of maturity last season but also showed that he cant be a reliable back up pg

Nate>>> jennings, chalmers, teague tho

I'm relieved Jennings hasn't received some absurd contract offer, there's some sanity left in the NBA.

And I wouldn't give Nate more than a 2 year deal, with that 2nd year being a team option.
