A team of Nate, Monta, Rudy, Josh Smith, and Cousins with Lance coming off the bench would be :smokin to watch.

Yeah they're the biggest media market, I get that, but that doesn't account for this "pressure" of playing dor the knicks or the lakers. These media outlets sure don't believe the knicks and lakers are going to win anywhere. And if you're a player of Howard's stature, if you don't win or play well in any city it'll be backlash from the national media. (If this is who assigns this "pressure")

The point I'm getting at is that this pressure that's attached with playing for the lakeshow or the knicks is almost purely stereotypical/the cool thing to say now and not reflective of the real expectations of those teams.

Are you just now following sports or something?

You really trying to sit there and say that there isn't added pressure to win/perform for the Lakers, Yankees, Cowboys, etc. Teams that are expected to shine annually, even when they are down?

All that is, is stereotypical?

Nate can ball but a 5'8 2 guard is a huge risk with GMs long term, he showed signs of maturity last season but also showed that he cant be a reliable back up pg

Nate>>> jennings, chalmers, teague tho

Yo what is wrong with ya'll like seriously What is wrong?

this thread needs to be closed up until the season starts, its gone downhill in here since most of the marquee free agents have been signed

Some comparisons are just so redicilous on here.  It's honestly not possible to say in some circumstances if player A is better than player B because they are in completely different situations.  Also, players from small market teams get shafted since they are not seen on the national scale night in and night out like LA/MIA/BOS/NY.

Anyways, I would definitely take Kyrie > PG going forward.  It's hard to understand why some would do otherwise.  Just too much potential from Kyrie and I see him being a top 1-2 PG in the league for 10+ years.  For someone earlier to say he won't be the number 1 option on a team making it to the ECF just seams silly to me with what the Cavs are doing at the moment.

Middle ground must be found with Monta (yea he had a bad season) but 45% for a career is not bad for a SG.  He is a fringe all star caliber player so to say he's trash just doesn't seem right.

I don't understand the hate for Rudy Gay.  It's serious in here.  Is he THAT bad?

What does everyone consider a nba player to have in his skill set to make him better than the others.

Monta has skills and heart, he's just dumb and he's been on bad teams. I expect him to play much better next year as the 2nd option, with a true point and a really good coach. He's not going to tolerate monta chucking 3s and that was his main issue.

But this thread is out of control. Monta better than steph? Gay better than George? Mavs better off without Dwight? Lots of blasphemy in here. Comparing dalembert and chandler SMH SMDH

Are the Tyson/Dalembert comparisons really that bad? They're not far apart IMO...

I feel like people have turned Tyson into a lot more than he really is...

Tyson was a legit defensive anchor during that run from pnr defense, switching, interior defense, Dalembert is just fat now

any Bucks fans care to fill me in on whether or not Dally still thinks he's Hakeem in his prime on the offensive end??

Exactly. They do the exact same ******g thing. He was stuck on a crappy Bucks team that had 90 other young front court players that they needed to play. Whenever he got the playing time he still produced. Dude dropped 35 and 12 on the Nuggets last year. I don't think Chandler has ever came close to 30 points in his career.

As a Sixers fan I can vouch that in his time with us he did think he was damn KG or Hakeem at random times. Other than that...great shot blocker, played his best games vs the best competition and had a lot of heart.

Big J....what do you do for work? You seem to have a lot of free time on your hands memorizing every post I've ever made.

Everyone that's tall and athletic isnt Tyson chandler. Tyson's been transforming defenses since his last year with the Bulls. His defense was almost as important as Dirks offense on that Dallas team. That's how good he is when healthy. Dalemberts been a scrub with no bball iq forever. He's more interested in taking jump shots and blocking shots instead of playing actual team defense.

Tyson has been so good on D that he can anchor an entire team. He can rotate and recover among the best of them, just as important as getting up for a block.

Sammy is solid too, let's see if he can thrive in a decent-good situation.

Deandre can get up for a block but that doesn't make him similar to these two

Honestly all 3 of these guys (Calderon, Monta, Dalembert) have been stuck in crappy situations with bad coaching for just about their entire career so it's really a wait and see to see how they'll do in a better more structured winning environment. I personally think all 3 will strive there.

Despite his brain farts Dalembert did anchor our defense in Philly for a while for what it's worth. He had Webber, Thad Young and a year of Elton Brand next to him on and off through injuries. Not really the help on defense that you'd want. Him and Iggy were the only reason we didn't get 100+ dropped on our heads every night.

I remember your ignorant rant about mental health and your insistence Deandre = Tyson.. Hardly every post.

Brandon Jennings and Nate Robinson still dont have homes. That is crazy. The two biggest FAs left on the market IMO and theres next to no buzz.
If you guys really want to talk about defensively-liable point guards...
