2. Lack there of, of cap space in New York

We actually have more cap space than anyone in 2015. I dont see Melo leaving NY just because of that.

Yes but Not really...

Melo $24.465 mil
J.R. Smith $6.3mil player option
Shump is a RFA and will get around $7mil.. Unless you just let him walk, but that's a doubtful strategy.

Cap hold for 9 more roster spaces = $4.5mil

So you have $18mil of cap space.. Assuming Felton opts out and you do not sign any other player past 2014.

Also would have to decline bird rights on Chandler meaning you will probably lose him...

Then a year after, say Melo stays... The entire Miami cap space is free $0.0mil in cap space committed.. Soo Heat make an even better team, and Melo is in the same situation.

I guess we'll see.

Father time never loses, but I wonder if Kobe can swing one more haymaker before he has to give in..

statistically kobe had one of his best seasons ever last year. I'm not counting him out til he retires.

everybody acts like there are no worthwhile free agents after lebron and melo . if kobe and pau (remember duncan looked washed too when he was playing injured) can come back healthy you can surround them with role players in 14 and/or a big name in 15 and be right back in it. miami has low key been one of the oldest teams in the league for all 3 finals runs

But you can see the ability with Ben Mac and his ability to get hot very quick. It's almost JR Smith like  he has 16 and counting right now in the 3rd quarter. It's like he's really good or reaaaallly bad.

Not even that. He just goes ghost for extended periods of time pretty much every game. He was nowhere to be found in the 1st half, went OFF in the 3rd quarter and then in the 4th quarter in a tight game he was nowhere to be found. Just chillin in the corner or passing the ball back to the point guard after a couple dribbles. I don't understand him. It's like he doesn't know how good he is.

I guess those are all worse than being a rapist...

*shrugs*
and this has something to do with body mileage, right?
Why no, no it doesn't.

We call comments like those (air quotes) 'trolling'.

CertifiedFlyBoi23, if the only thing you have to contribute to a discussion is to throw out an off topic response that is most likely meant to push buttons, just don't post. Thanks.

Reminds me of Juice in that regard. Never understood the passive nature. It's almost as if its a confidence issue. They go through stretches where they're uber aggessive, and then go through stretches where it's the COMPLETE opposite.

And it wasn't that Ben was passive in the first half, he was just missing everything he threw up. So I wouldn't say he was nowhere to be found, he was just shooting bricks like he's been doing for much of the summer league. But Ben takes some terrible shots though, and it looks like he lacks the ability to get some easy stuff for himself. Like, he can't break someone down and get in the paint/to the basket, so unless he just passes the ball all the time, he's stuck taking falling away 3's and shots over 3 defenders.

He has good athleticism though, but can't really showcase it unless he's filling a lane because he can't really dribble and he isn't the biggest of guys either.
