And saying it's the worst trade ever, is simply hyperbole..

1) we don't know how far the thunder would have went if Westbrook had not gotten hurt (a player who played a major part in okc getting to the finals the year before).. Which covers the one season Martin was brought in for (but did win 60 games)

2) we don't know how good lamb or Adams will be.. Or hell even whoever we get with the mavericks' pick.. Then there is the cavs' 2nd

3) magic, Barkley, Kareem and wilt have all been traded (magic techinically wasn't traded.. The lakers acquired a draft pick from a crappy team, which turned out to be the 1st overall pick and magic

I just don't understand how management chose to pay Ibaka over Harden which prompted the trade. You could replace what Ibaka gives you, Harden, not so much.
That's not what happened..

They were both offered contracts at the same time.. Ibaka accepted his..

The front office continued to negotiate with harden, going as high as 4 years 55 mill.. Harden wanted the max (which for okc would have been 4 years 60 mill) AND a no trade clause

When harden turned down the final offer, they then started looking at trades

We obviously don't know the exact trades.. But little things have come out:

Like the wizards not wanting to give up beal.. The warriors wanting to include some of their horrid contracts.. Then the mumblings about the raptors
Ok, even with that scenario and given their play up to that moment, you knew you were going to lose out on one, and you knew you would have a choice to make. As we can see, OKC goofed on that one.

On second thought, Ibaka was offered an extension first, then Harden was offered a contract afer. They knew they couldn't keep them both for flexibility purposes.

I think people just like giving Bulls fans a hard time since they genuinely believe this stuff...

yea this is true.

my dude rose was a ***** for not playing in the playoffs atleast but bulls fans stll had his back big time like to no end.

if kobe did that **** you would hear me trash him non stop. but you would never get that from any of the real superstars such as lebron kd kobe etc. they all would want to play ahead of schedule or atleast on time and not miss the playoffs. not make bull crap excuses such as muscle memory. the ***** might as well have just said he cant play cuz he scared of the dark...

I personally had no problem with Derrick Rose sitting out the whole year. I don't know why people kept trashing him for it. I mean, you want him for the long run, right? This made me think of Grant Hill and how he got rushed back when he hurt his ankle. He got robbed of plenty good years in the NBA. As a player, sometimes you damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Why do you jump to the conclusion that it was ibaka vs harden for the money?

They could have amnestied Perkins.. If we're discussing mistakes, I would have preferred they went that route and kept both ibaka and harden

Why do I jump to that conclusion? Because that's what they put out there at the time. Perk wasn't mentioned as a strong possibility for amnesty. They thought he would be an asset and play better than he did. They whiffed. Honestly, they could have waited on Serge. They were afraid to compete to keep him. They whiffed on that. I would have extended Harden and played the wait and see approach with Serge. That's how it is, you win some, you lose some. They just gambled on the wrong things is all.

and it got that homer tard wilbon trying his best to make sense of that comment instead of laughing it off

Wilbon actually had a perfectly acceptable analysis of the comments, so I have no idea where you're coming from with that.

& he showed he should've sat his *** down until he was 100 cuz he provided zero difference being on the court

& he was getting bashed well before he was injured

Mike D'Antoni didn't utilize him effectively.

Dwight balled and was still the best center in the league putting up 17 and 12.

This. If Lamb is good next year, theyre paying him peanuts for the next 3 years. Same with Adams. Beard is getting the max next year. Thats what OKC risked. This wasnt a short term trade so people need to chill. PLUS a contending team like OKC wasn't going to give a rookie minutes, so I dont know why everyone assumes Lamb is a bust already. :smh:

Can one of you dudes harping on it please tell me what he was supposed to say

was he supposed to slurp bron & the warm in HIS interview

was he supposed to cower & say kobe, bron & kd are all better than me

HELL NO ... any & everybody saying or thinking he shouldve are $%^&* goofies point blank
