Nice article Frank.

I'm really intrigued to see the Nets this season.

On paper, they look like they could pose a serious threat to Miami in the East.

Then you factor in J-Kidd being the coach and the uncertainty that comes with that.

Could be a really good season for the Nets or an unmitigated disaster; either way it will be interesting.

Kyrie reminds me of a more efficient Gilbert arenas. I think we forget how raw hibachi was back in the day.

Kyrie and Tony Parker are the greatest no vertical leap having finishers in the league.

It's uncanny, left right, it doesn't seem to matter.

Nash in his prime was up there too, although he didn't go to the basket as much as Parker or Irving.

@TimBontemps Nets current salaries for 2013-14 is $102,147,395, based off the info provided by the always great @MarkDeeksNBA
@TimBontemps By my math, that means that their luxury tax payment currently for next season is a staggering $86,897,126.
@TimBontemps To put that in perspective: currently no NBA team is set to even pay that much in regular salaries. Knicks are closest, but still lower.
@TimBontemps Total payout for next season for the Nets at the moment, or at least my best estimate of it: $189,044,521

Wow he looks smaller than 6"3....

That's because he is. He's about 6'1.5 from what I see.

The Blake Griffin Slander is :smh: just wrong man.

And why does everybody sleep on the Lakers? I know it all depends on Kobe's health, but all signs point to him being healthy enough to return sooner than expected, which should bolster them. Combine a healthy Kobe, with a (Healthy) Nash, Pau, got some much needed scoring punch with Nick Young, and this is a top 6 team in the west. I'm no Laker apologist by any means, but if they are healthy, they can be a dark horse and not only get in the playoffs, but win a round, maybe more. I just can't count out a healthy Nash + Kobe + Pau and a few of the pieces they've surrounded them with.

And I like what the Nets are doing. They have some really good pieces and I believe in them to be very good this season. Wouldn't be surprised to see an East Coast Final between them and Miami. They should be that good.

The team as of right now is a 10-12 seed in the West in my eyes.

They're younger and more athletic than the previous couple of seasons, but the defense is a wreck.

Indeed.

The Nets better make a deep playoff run this season. At least the ECFs.

Prok is loaded but he ain't gonna be paying this type of money for a 1st round exit.

I won't say John Wall is "trash" but he's one of the last guys I'd want running my team. I hate watching him play point guard. Watch guys like Kyrie, CP3, DWill, Curry, Rondo, etc run the point...they orchestrate the whole offense. John Wall looks like he's playing pick-up basketball every time he comes down the court. He's great for highlights and on fast breaks...but when the game slows down he looks clueless. That's never gonna work in the playoffs.

You put Kyrie Irving in the same sentence as those other guys but want to **** on John Wall?

Huh? Let me tell it? All I'm saying is James Harden doesn't play like GA, which he doesn't  he scores a lot more of his points from the line than GA, and GA was a much better shooter, especially from distance.

How can you not see it?

Both are good scores, streaky at times, good off the dribble, can finish with contact., gets to the line alot. Look at 05-06 Arenas stats and compare them to last years harden and they're damn near identical.

Harden:
25.9 ppg - 5.8 ast - 4.9 rebs - 1.8 stl - 44% FG - 37% from 3

Arenas

29.3 ppg - 6.1 ast - 3.5 rebs - 2.0 stl - 45% FG - 37% from 3
