All this Nets talk a lock for ECF blah blah blah blah

let's be serious. This Nets team can't get past a Derrick Rose bulls team + whoever they bring in

Not. Happening

Cavs need to stop ******g around and just go after Cousins at this point. You got your PF of the future already.

Don't know how he going play when he gets back. Don't be overconfident in rose.

nets will finish 4th in the east for one year
you dont mortgage your future for 36 and 37 year olds
U sure.... I know it's only been one year but seems like they just fall short of expectations. JJ need to step up big time back to at least 20pt game Joe Johnson

They didn't have a future.. Through 2016 they have at least $54-61mil between DWill, JJ & Brook Lopez.

2016-2017 it's just DWill's $22mil in the last year of his contract.. You have to assume that Lopez will be back at $18mil in the first year. That's 2/3 of your cap already.

They would never finish in the lottery.

No future really to be had. Just next 3-4 years. Only questionable pick given up was 2018, but you can't trade back to back 1st rounders. If that was the case, they'd trade the 2015 instead of 2018

the nets look good on paper and im not even mad as a knicks fan because im still loyal... but it dont matter because who going to beat miami though :smh:

So is there something wrong with TRob? Insider info anyone?

Dude still needs to get a fair shot at showcasing his game. And Houston would be willing to trade him on the cheap. Lots of teams in the L could use a promising PF prospect like him. Spurs? C's? Blazers? Suns? How come no one is biting? Rookie scale contract too.

I feel like that's a good trade for both sides.
How are you gonna beat Miami when you have nothing down low defensively?

And without Lebron, how are you even going to beat the Pacers when you have nothing down low defensively?

Why do people keep saying this like the Nets weren't already in the luxury tax until 2017 BEFORE the trade. Their future was already mortgaged when they traded the #6 pick for Crash, resigned him for 10 mil/year, then traded for JJ.

Those moves painted them into a corner for the foreseeable future. They had zero financial flexibility & a slim chance to get out of the first round.

Prok doesn't care about building they the draft or picks.

He wants to put winning product on the court now and not wait for picks to develop.

Hmmm sounds like another new York owner I know

I'm telling you. Both the nets and Knicks will try to out do each other by making dumb but flashy moves. For years and years. Neither team will build correctly.

U aren't winning **** in this league without a draft pick star. Heat used the cheat code, but that was only possible because they drafted wade. Lakers Kobe draft deal. Celtics pierce. Spurs Duncan. Mavs dirk draft day deal.

It's just so rare. Pistons is the only recent one.

It is rare, but every draft pick you mentioned is a Hall of Famer.

So basically you need to draft a HoFer to win a chip, expect for the pistons.

The Knicks have been terrible for a DECADE, with high draft picks, what do they have to show for it?

After the Early 2000s of nets and the VC experiment.

Outside of Lopez an maybe Favors the nets draft picks have amounted to Terrance Williams, CDR, Boone, Marcus Williams, etc...

So either hit a HoFer to carry a franchise or go via free agency.

Are the Nets winning the chip the year or next year? There's a VERY small window of it happening.

BUT I rather this team swing for the fence than years of subpar drafting and hoping and waiting.

Show effort and be aggressive than sitting on their thumbs with the Kanye Shrug.

I'm not trying to win anything

Just providing my insight on what's going on with the nets.

And I'm sorry but mid to late 1st rounders in the NBA amount to bench and rotational players the majority of the time unless you get extremely lucky and hit with your drafting / system and hoping that player isn't picked up by another team.

Giving away 1st rounders in the NFL is way more damaging to a franchise than it is in the NBA.
