Melo hate maybe

Paul George homerism, hell no.

Paul George isn't even my favorite player in the league right now lol (Jamal Crawford).  But I know overrated when I see it, and Melo is that.

Elite scorer yes.  But he is average or below average in every other category.

when you are being compared to Lebron you best get yourself to the Finals with anyone.

Tyson Chandler, Kidd, JR Smith...team looks like a 2011 Mavs...but I forgot, Melo isn't better than Dirk.

Now dudes are blaming it on melos ego when he was the one that wanted to come play with amare and wanted the front office to bring in another scoring option, acting like this late in his career melo is only worried about stats smh

Yes he clogs the lane, he get the ball low post, always looks to score. 

very well, but not great. He has skills and I think Melo has the best scoring mechanics, but that doesn't mean he is the best scorer in the NBA. Dispute the fact Lebron isn't a better jumpshooter than Melo, he is a better scorer than Melo.

He's not in the class of Lebron or Dirk. A tier or two below. Only a small handful of players can get teams like that to win a finals. Lebron and dirk included. Still, thats not a knock on him. Those guys are consensus top 30, with Bron creeping  in the top 10. When its all said and done, he'll be looked at as a hall of famer and a good player. Not every HOFer is LeBron and Dirk. I think you and I can agree he is a good player.

why do you keep comparing Melo to the greatest basketball player in the league today?

and stop being blinded by the names. Kidd didn't even score a single point in the playoffs, Novak won't shoot even if Mugsy Bogues closed out on him which is why he was traded, and Amare just came back from injury and was on a 15 minute limit vs the Pacers (and does not play defense). Tyson was completely ineffective and JR didn't have a good game since the Terry incident and needed off-season surgery....

How are all of those circumstance's Melo's fault? Because he doesn't pass like Lebron does? You want Melo to guard Hibbert and David West? Because the Knicks lost the series due to rebounding/2nd chance points...a weakness of the Knicks that was exposed over and over again.

Pacers are a very good team, Knicks weren't good enough that series.

Can't fault fans for believing in their team. But let the record reflect I had the Heat repeating from the outset of the season

fans believe in their teams, but c'mon...knicks were really confident with their hot start. i'm a w's fan and even i didnt think they were gonna do much even with the success they had in the reg season. didn't think they were gonna beat denver (once lee was out), and when they did, was not expecting how tough they were against the spurs.
back to the knicks...fans were really thinking...once iman gets back, he will lock up wade and any player. jr smith is a legit all-star player this year, tyson will anchor the defense, melo is scorer and closer, felton and kidd bring that leadership and toughness needed at the pg position.

You just admitted you hate the player. That alone limits your objectivity. You say George is good and elite at things like passing and rebounding, when melo puts up virtually the same numbers in those categories. Like you said numbers arent everything, but he still has a huge impact on the game, moreso than George
 
Oh but one last thing. So good to see people embracing one of my favorite players Dirk. But so funny remember how much hate he used to get on here before winning that chip. Ya'll are too wishy washy. If Melo wins a chip with the Knicks or Lakers or whoever there won't be enough room on his balls left for LaLa.

Dirk's always been a winner in the playoffs, even when he was taking crap.  Melo's clearly never been at the level of prime Dirk.\

Dirk also won a chip with one of the least talented squads in the last 15 years.

MIA vs CHI - Chicago
OKC vs LAC - OKC
OKC vs CHI - OKC in 6

If the Heat make it to the finals they will lose. I mean 4 straight final appearances is IMPRESSIVE but also hard on any athletes body.

If melo wins a chip, he won't be finals mvp.

Because a bunch of you guys overrate him, thinking he is on the level of KD or Bron. He is TOP 10 at best, but I would have around 11-18 tbh. Just because he is a very good scorer, doesn't make him a great as many claim.

he is a great player, but very overrated.

i ain't even going to argue wit you Melo fan boys anymore dude is Shimmy Walker meets Glen Robinson with the ESPN hype behind him
