so john wall is now in the same category as paul rose and westbrook?... he's not even better than the lower PGs (curry,KYRIE, and LILLARD)

John Wall 5 years $80 Million extension.

Stephen Curry 4 years $44 Million extension.

The bad ankles actually helped the Warriors.
John Wall hasnt demonstrated the ability to stay healthy either, though.
The knee issues are/were a concern, yes.

But I think it says more about how much of a steal Curry's extension is than anything about Wall's extension.

Steal is an UNDERSTATEMENT. We're basically paying Taj Gibson the same thing :smh:

Y'all forgetting Wall is 22 with a lot more upside then Steph who only projects to be a little better than he is currently at 25. The only pg in the league who had the physical tools he has is Westbrook who's getting similar money.

Y'all still sleeping on Wall?
mean.gif
No one is sleeping on Wall.  Just pointing out that his extension is almost double what Stephen Curry's was.....and most would agree that Steph is currently the better player.

Realtalk. Dudes STILL hating on Wall need to just sign in below and make yourself known before the season starts

It's like some of you didn't see what he was doing when he came back last season. Put up 47-8-7 (59%FG) on the #1 defense. 37-5-4 (64%FG) w/ 3 steals and 2 blocks on the Pacers. But he's not a max talent though.

Yep.

The 2.5 year difference in age is huge in development.

with that said it now makes sense a little, but they couldve waited for lillard no way he staying.
lillard seems pretty committed to Portland, it would probably be pretty hard to get him. i think he said he plans on staying there, plus they can give him a max contract too when his is almost up.

Steph is in my top 4 favorite players so I'm not saying Wall is better by any means but people are really sleeping. On his defense especially

  @ DT

Yes, but the Warriors got a steal w/ Curry solely because of his ankles. It's not relevant because the Warriors and Wizards were in two different situations.

When Kyrie Irving gets maxed out next summer you can make the same exact comment and post more
"Curry at 4/44 > Irving at 5/80 lullllz herp derp

If everybody is healthy the point guard battles in the east are going to be :x

Rose, Kyrie, Wall, Rondo, Deron :pimp:

Maybe Kemba even takes the next step who knows.

Hindsight is 20/20. Unfortunately for Steph, he broke out AFTER he signed the extension. Prior to that, he played. 30 games and avg 15pts. Wall broke out before his extension, that's why he got paid. Oh and kyrie and wall are on the same level.

Y'all really don't understand the Wall contract? He's coming into his prime and when healthy last year was basically 20/9 and can guard any pg in the league. The Wizards are about to get his best years, the contract is a no brainer and any other team with a need at pg would've given him the same.

Contracts and extensions are more about timing than anything esle, word to Rashard Lewis, Eddy Curry, etc

If this was a contract year Curry would've probly got the big bucks too.

And John Wall is another mid tier player NT wants to be elite so bad but he's just not there yet either, the potential is there but let's see it happen consistently not a half of a season.

I don't think people are "hating" or "sleeping" on Wall, just pointing out that he may be overpaid based on the market value for PGs this year.  Considering how many excellent PGs there are in the league, and the fact that Wall has yet to make an All-Star team, I think it's a fair argument.
