Wall is not mid tier but he is overpaid at this point
a young athletic pg who averages 17/8/4, has an improving jump shot is nothing to sneeze at tho

Next year he needs to improve the 3pt shot and get the turnovers under 3 per game

The problem is that those numbers look way worse when you shoot 42% and commit 3.7 turnovers (which you pointed out) a game.  People got to stop linking points/assists/boards without including anything else.  I mean Brandon Jennings averaged 17/7/3 last year.  Ty Lawson had 17/7/2.  Jrue Holiday had 18/8/4.

That's a similar ballpark for all three.  I think Wall has the most potential, but those stats aren't anything impressive when you consider that contract.

I don't think people are "hating" or "sleeping" on Wall, just pointing out that he may be overpaid based on the market value for PGs this year.  Considering how many excellent PGs there are in the league, and the fact that Wall has yet to make an All-Star team, I think it's a fair argument.
What is the argument? That the Wizards shouldn't give Wall a max contract and let him bolt for another team?

The market value for a former #1 overall pick, 22 year old PG coming off a 19/8/4 season with a 20+ PER would be quite high. If Washington didn't give him the max someone else would.

Too many good vets in front of Wall for him to be top tier, he's good but not top 5 good and that's what I'd consider top tier.

Cp3, Deron, Westbrook, Rose , and Rondo are all guys I'd put in fron of him without even blinking.

Fan favorite and top tier are 2 different things.

Wall is getting paid off potential, simple as that. At this point, he's not playing up to that contract, but he may be in a year or two. No reason why the Wizards could not get him for a little cheaper though and make the deal seem like more of a steal a few years down the road.

I personally think 5yr/$60M would have been completely fine and doable. Later down the line if Wall becomes a superstar, then the Wizards get more return on their investment.

 Wall would be playing for another team in 2014 if the Wizards offered him that

You don't think a team like the Lakers or Knicks would gladly max him out? Come on people

Wall is a top 10 PG in the league's most stacked position. I'd slot him at 6 or 7.

That combined with the timing of the extension and the Wizards trying to right the ship and get leadership with non idiotic players is why he got it.

I just scrolled back a couple pages and :x  Paul George is better than Melo? Lebron isn't a number 1 scoring option? Where am I? Hamburgers go on my feet.

a healthy john wall is a triple double threat and he locks alot of point guards down

its just a health problem with wall

as for the paul george / carmelo comparison.......they are completely

different players so its a dumb debate.....george is never going to develop carmelo's

offensive arsenal and carmelo is never gonna stop being a ball stopper on offense or as good

of a wing defender as paul

I think it will be for the best for Lance, and for the team.  I think Lance will really excel at this role, ala JR Smith.  It will mean a really big starting lineup of George Hill (6'2), Paul George (6'9), Danny Granger (6'8), David West (6'9), and Roy Hibbert (7'2)

damn, that is a big *** starting lineup huh?  With Lance, Scola, Copeland, and CJ Watson off the bench....could be mean bros

:nerd:

Yeah that squad does sound beasty!

We shall see though

I'm sorry but this is absurd.  Wall could one day be the best point guard in the league.  But right now?  6 or 7?  Stop it.

I had no idea John wall's middle name is hildred but i digress...

$80 mil tho? :nerd:

The nba is so watered down now bros that people actually think this is acceptable :smh:

Bruh's game is not that good to me.

Pacers can't start Granger and George together anymore. The two of them + Hill is just a horrific passing/ball handling trio.

Dude had his own shoes/ commercial before playing a nba game, undrafted player gives him that work in summer league, gets a 80 mil extension based off half a season, gets mentioned as a top 6-7 pg, but melos overrated lmao
