Paul George is also being defended by guards that are inches shorter than he is. He will be exposed once teams start putting their best wing defender on him.

Um...says the guy with the Heat avy. Did you not watch any of your team vs the Pacers? He routinely was being checked by LeBron and never seemed like he had any problems.

By the way....how old is CP?

Actually, it was about 30/30/40 with wade/Allen/lebron.

Well, looks like the Mavericks are done.

Here's their 15-man roster, including what I think will be the depth chart. Parantheses indicate inactives.

PG- Calderon -> Harris -> Mekel -> (Larkin)
SG- Monta -> Vince -> Ellington -> (Ricky Ledo)
SF- Marion -> Jae
PF- Dirk -> Blair
C- Sam Dalembert -> Wright -> (Bernard)

Overall, I'm happier with this team more than last year, although my expectations were a bit higher last year. I expected a lot more out of OJ, Darren, and Brand/Kaman especially.

Mekel will probably start getting back-up PG duties immediately since both Larkin and Harris might start the season out injured.

I like Calderon/Harris more than I like Mike James and Darren Collison. Collison was awesome in parts of games, but he never got out of Carlisle's doghouse, for whatever reason. Calderon gives the Mavs a guy who can give the bigs and wings the ball. We didn't have that last year. Harris hopefully can stop taking jumpshots and explode to the basket like he did for us about five year ago.

Monta I like better than OJ, just because I feel like he's going to be a more efficient scorer, and although he won't turn the ball over that much less, I feel like they won't be stupidass turnovers like OJ would have. OJ is the most overhyped ball-handler I've ever seen. He got his pocket picked on just about every single big play last year. Frustrating to watch.

SF hasn't really change much, as Vince, Marion, and Jae all were here last year. Jae needs to get better, hopefully he will.

I like Blair backing up Dirk a lot more than I like Wright backing-up Dirk. Rebounding was always a headache for us last year, and having Blair come off the bench is nice, especially since Dalembert is so efficient rebounding the ball too. Kaman was an idiot out there 95% of the time, and couldn't rebound. Dalembert isn't Kevin Love or Dwight Howard, but as long as Dirk is next to him, it's fine with me. Blair will gobble up rebounds hopefully.

Having Wright/Blair on the floor together covers up for each-others weaknesses, at least that's what the plan is, :lol:

I'd say I'm content on where we are right now. Not happy, not overly disappointed.

I still would've liked to give Oden a chance, but oh well.

The Mavs'll definitely be mediocre but they have the makings of a pretty good squad. Monta Ellis is much better than people give him credit for. If Carlisle can force him to cut down the bad 3s (or all 3s), he's a dynamite scorer and playmaker. This might be the first time he has a good coach. He also has a ton of heart, something that Mavs definitely lacked last year.
