This. All Oden is doing this season is filling the spot Eddy Curry left behind. The man probably can't do more than 10 jumping jacks without something going horribly wrong

im not saying he is gonna be a great big... all im saying is that he will fill a role when we need a big body come playoff time.. to foul, grab some rebounds, and contest shots... watch his minutes, and take the gamble when needed...

but he is an athlete and its not like he is the average joe or even old... He literally really isn't expected to do anything. I mean injury aside...as long as he doesn't get reinjured.... he can do what the heat need him to do... Hell if dr j. at his old age decades removed from any athletic activities can still dunk 5ft from the basket surely a guy in his early/mid 20's (bar injury) can stand in the lane and draw fouls and clog the lane.

Whenever Oden was healthy he was 10 8 and 2 blocks and he's only 25 still

The thing is he never really had THAT many to begin with. He can block shots and rebound with anyone, no question. Offensively he was lookin a lil shaky other than a putback and gettin spoon fed at the rim.
Let's say somehow the Heat ended up with say... Bismack Biyombo through a trade or something. Would people be THIS excited? Cause that's all Oden is about to provide...as long he can stay on the floor. He's out there to be big and tall...and disrupt some ****.
Alot of ya'll are gassed off the name and the former hype that used to surround him and overplaying this more than it needs to be
It's not a stretch to say Miami was probably the favorite to win it all next year anyway. It's arguable indeed...but in no way shape or form does Greg Oden tip the scale either way with my opinion on that
I'm seeing ****** on Instagram posting pics of Greg Oden and saying "3Peat" and they are NOT trolling.

Eddy Curry may be fat but at least he doesn't have glass bones. I don't think Oden has reached 82 games played overall yet.

actually that's the exact number of games lol...
and for ppl who said he basically sucked and never improved.....
In his last season, Greg Oden averaged 16.7 points, 12.8 rebounds and 3.4 blocks per 36 minutes. After injury, Oden finally looked like the No. 1 pick (at least when not compared to Kevin Durant), and people were getting excited.
Um isn't there a guy in Houston who is regarded as the best big in all of basketball who averages similar numbers and really doesn't have much of an offensive game. Not to say same player etc... But for dudes saying he sucked/garbage etc... and pretty much when healthy averages pretty much the same as the most sought after free agent this summer, a player who also is extremely limited offensively kinda sounds ridiculous.

Only thing is that this dudes career high is less than 24 MPG. In his 2nd season he only played 21 games. So per 36 is pretty much what he did 14 times.

Portland could have been contenders if Brandon Roy and Oden panned out. Add them to Aldridge and Lillard and thats a solid lineup

QFT. Blazer fan here and I can't help but bring up the hypothetical question of what if Durant was drafted instead. :\ Bayless, Miller, Matthews, Batum, Roy, Durant, Gerald Wallace, LMA, Camby, Pryzbilla. :x A collection of all those players might not pan out but I'm sure people would take a paycut to play with Durant, Roy(healthy) and LMA.
