Can someone get me a total of how many shots westbrook took last year and how many rose took his mvp year? If westbrook had his own team, hed prolly average 26 ish on closer to 40% shooting than 45.

Looking at the numbers they were damn near identical. Russy had a helluva season last year.

Yep. But it wasnt considered an MVP season because there was not a compelling storyline to go with his stats.

Nor did he have a respectable secondary scorer or anyone expect him to lead that team and be successful in way that he did.

I don't have a problem with the argument...but literally NONE of you were saying that before Rose went down.

As one of the bigger Russ fans on here, the closest I came to saying it was pointing out Russ' numbers were very close to Rose's MVP season. But that was more to defend Westbrook than to say he's better than Rose.

Westbrook's stats are impressive because he's doing it alongside the 2nd best player in the league.. but that also gives him freedom that Rose doesn't get as the number 1 option and leader of his team. They're a lot closer than some people might want to admit.

but the "discussion" never happened before ... no one would dare to say it until he went down & since then its been a free for all on streching the truth & telling bad corny jokes

Russell Westbrook deserves more praise

Oh. You mean the compelling storyline I was referring to? Agreed.

I would have to go with Westbrook over Rose because of the on ball pressure dude plays on defense. He is a great defender and uses his athleticism to cause fits. He averaged 3 steals a game this past season.

Swear to God 24 has seen every shot and memorized what to do on the floor. Jesus Christ.

:wow: at the grainy *** footage of MJ. Was it really that long ago?????

But was anyone really expecting Evan Turner to be anything more than a SOLID player? Yea he was drafted #2 but we shouldn't just look at draft position as that.

Hell, I don't expect Oladipo to be anything more than a ROLE player. He was drafted #2 but he was in a weak draft.

Yeah, it was that long ago, especially by NT standards. Round here, 15 years is like the same thing as 50.

I see you're still euro stepping the fact that he plays with a top 3 scorer year in and out which makes his life sooooo much easier on the court.

At least you're consistent.

Oladipo probly be better than Turner, should be a good defender/3rd option type player...you right about draft position tho, sometimes you can get caught up looking at what number the player went instead of their skills/production

Or because there was a player on his own team that put up way better numbers than he did.

Dawg what?

I just don't see the dude ever being anything than a energy/defensive specialist.

Let him prove me wrong but I have no reason to think he will be more than that.

If he was draft 23rd would you all have the same mentality? Like I said, him going #2 somehow gives many folks the impression he is more than what he really is.

Ill let him prove you wrong. Turner is bust, but V wont be.
But folks kinda always thought Turner wouldn't do anything. So would he really be a bust?

Oladipo won't be a bust because he is coming from a Draft that nobody is expecting anyone to do anything. So if there aren't high expectations of you of course you won't be a bust. He CAN'T be a bust. If he does nothing that wouldn't really surprise anyone.

We throw that word around too easy. Every lottery pick that amounts to nothing isn't a bust fellas.
