Am I the only one who thinks Blake has developed a decent post game? Hes even adding that step back jumper.
Not even close to where it needs to be. It became evident in the playoffs. He's still not comfortable with his back to the basket so he is stuck holding the ball letting defenders set their defense. His jumper is also in need of work.. he just needs to be decent at both of these and the Clippers will look immensely better.

I gotta feel like alot of the opinions on here about Blake are driven more about his image than his game.

I have never...ever seen a player with the numbers he puts up...scrutinized about perceived holes in his game like Blake. By year 2...such a big deal was being made about his lack of development as if dude was 10 years in already.

Agreed.

I never liked Quake, but the more people hate him, the more I want to root for his improvement.

If Doc can't fix it, no one can.

I definitely agree with you in that regard but he simply is depending on his speed and power too much. He doesn't have that comfort level yet but it's definitely scrutinized more because people don't like him and also the Clippers are in win now mode due to Chris Paul.

But the guy obviously has some improving to do.

I'm just saying...for a guy with 3 years under his belt...you could do a WHOLE LOT WORSE than a big man with career averages of 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Yep no doubt about it. Again he's under the microscope because he plays with Chris Paul who is in his prime and needs to win now. If Blake was playing on a developing team it would be a different story.

In his fourth year, we should start to see him take the next step. He got those numbers largely because he's bigger, stronger, faster and can jump higher than every one else. It's time for him to start developing the basic big man skills.

Griffin's decline in rebounding is more concerning to me than his progress offensively. But I'm of the belief that he has improved offensively since his rookie year.

*Waits for DatZNasty to mention why he can't average one block a game*

Well of course his offense has improved since his rookie year. That's a given with almost any player. But the point and question is, how much has it really developed and is the development going too slow? Watching him in the playoffs the past two years has been painful. Albeit he's been allegedly hurt but you should be much more concerned about Blake's offensive repertoire because without him developing that quickly the Clippers will struggle. They become way too predictable and stale with Blake in the PnR since he isn't comfortable with his shot yet.

The talents there when he's running and dunking.

Put him in a half court set with someone in his back / chest and he's not the same player.

And his rebounds have gone down every year in the league. 12 to 10 to 8.

For him to be a face of the league that the NBA wants him to be he needs to hone his skills.
I'm not in disagreement that there are areas of his game he needs to improve. I'm saying that with Blake specifically...people give him a MUCH shorter window to make those improvements.

Amare was an absolute BEAST before he developed that jumper...but I never seen people knock him as much as they knock Blake for not having a jumper or grabbing more boards. It was more of a "he'll get better as he gains more experience" type of opinion versus "he can't do this...he can't do that" type of thing with Blake.

Amare was fresh out of HS and wasn't the #1 pick though

Not to mention by his 3rd year he was putting up 26 9 with a steal and 1.5 blocks.

Not sure what point you're making. They both were 23/24 through the same amount of years in the NBA. And Blake put up 22/12 in his FIRST season without an MVP point guard spoon feeding him.

I'm simply speaking on people's opinions on the two. I never seen people really PICK apart Amare's game like they do Blake now until much later in his career. Amare is going on 12 years in it. After his first 4 or 5...there still weren't people as hard on him as they are Blake. Those criticisms did intensify during his last few years in PHX. During year 2 of Blake's career...people started talking about what he couldn't do as if he was 10 year vet.

Lebron a scrub for taking his trade announcement to movie script status

No other player in history did that

What a lame

Basically Lebron and Shaq are the only top 5 type players to leave their teams in free agency

And Lebron is only one to leave his team for a pay cut

But I don't know about him being a scrub

You really are starting to give DipsetGeneral a run for the title of Slowest NTer.

Please disappear already.

KG to the Bulls would be insane if he could reunite with Thibs. Too bad they'd probably have to throw in the Bobcats pick for the C's to accept a Boozer trade.

Rose/Hinrich/Deng/KG/Noah
Nate/Draft Pick/Butler/Gibson/FA C

:x

Shaq just left

Never turned into a reality show

Having 5 - 6 teams thinkn he was coming there

Great big ol announcement

like players don't leave teams all the time

Shaq didn't destroy several teams rosters then wonder where all the hate was coming from

Like stupid Lebron

I'm fed up with nt

Jumping down somebody throat reporting them when you think they wrong

But when they right everybody silent

Its pathetic

Point I was making was that Stat was more effective in the same time frame even with his limited skill set. I've only criticized Blake after this year because like you said he put up those #'s as a rookie but hasn't improved on them since. He's a terrible free throw shooter and a bad defender even with his athleticism. As much as I liked Amare I was weary of him not having solid fundamentals either. I'm not saying Blake can't get better but he hasn't really shown any improvement besides sometimes hitting that 15 footer.
