if its not that serious, then credibility shouldnt matter to begin with

but by your statement, I feel like you're saying it does, which in turn means that it is atleast marginally serious

Man there's commentators and various non athletes in the hall, you're telling me this guy can't go off the virtue of being a top 25 scorer ever and the greatest dunker ever?

he's top 25 in points.  He is not a top 25 scorer by any means IMO.

yall sound like a bunch of haters trying to limit the hof

it may be watered down with ppl who dont all have 3+ chips and mvps but so what?  how many people in nba history really reach those heights?

appreciate these athletes and let their contributions to the sport live on

Thats why the guys with 3+ chips and MVPs are Hall of Famers, because very few people can reach those heights.

The rest of those guys who didnt reach those heights can be appreciated on sportscenter, or in their very own hall of very good.

All three of them should and will be in the HOF.
No way on Vince.
Only 15 players have 22,000 points, 5,000 boards, and 4,000 assists and Vince is one of them. The other 14 are all either in the HOF already or are locks (KG, Kobe, Ray, and Pierce). He's also top 50 in win shares and his plus/minus numbers are pretty good.

He's a HOFer whether people like it or not.

Vince has always been a half ***.

I've said it before, he frustrates me to no end. He "could" have been an all time elite, top 10ish type NBA player. He absolutely had the skills for it.

Dude didn't have the heart tho. He was kool aid. *insert about to shoot key free throws in the playoffs gif*

THEE greatest Gif of all time. Absolute personification of one Vince Carter.

i hear what ur saying but the hof would become meaningless cuz no one would ever make it or maybe 1 in a generation

we'd be lauding the same guys for the same accomplishments for all of time

Thats the point.  Its supposed to be a special accomplishment that celebrates the best of the best.  Vince was a good player and put up good numbers, but he isn't the best of the best.

i look at the hall as all encompassing, great and good.  the ones that are great are of course in, but good players being in doesnt diminish what the hall stands for imo.

i understand the best of the best, but if theyre that good the nba hof is not their only recognition.  the hall is like a base level for goodness/greatness.

I get what you're saying. He's still HOF caliber though.

This This this. I've been saying it for the longest time.

  He never won diddily with either team, and they both played in the lousy east, but to be a top ranking player for two franchises is impressive, however lousy and sad those teams were. He's basically a rich man's Stephon Marbury in the sense that he got his but never made his teams elite as he should have.

VC with the Nets was carrying sub-NBA level players to the playoffs. I will not accept any VC slander when BRIAN SCALABRINE was STARTING IN THE PLAYOFFS during his prime. VC and Kidd were playing out of their minds and it's almost impossible for a backcourt to carry a team like that.

Coaches were not losing sleep over VC, dude was a chucker. A way more athletic Sprewell.
Talking out your ***

Why bring up team accomplishments for an individual "award"? HOF is a great way to recognize great players who in the grand scheme damn near perfected their craft (how many of us can say that?)... many people try to minimize these guys work ethic like they just came out of the womb NBA players.

I really don't like the Baseball HOF b/c of the BS and BAN-ish journalists that don't have an athletic bone in their body acting like they mean anything to the sport (people that never played sports or weren't good always talk the most wreckless about pro-athletes.FACT)

Btw... Looks like BEasy bout to be a FA

Atlanta Hawks head coach arrested for DUI

Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol overnight and charged with driving under the influence.

A trooper stopped Budenholzer about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on 10th Street at Crescent Avenue in Midtown because the Audi A8 he was driving didn’t have the tail lights on, according to the State Patrol incident report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
