No. There is a difference between a market allowing you the opportunity to increase your endorsement deals and a team bringing in another billion dollar company to promise you a specific endorsement in hopes of bolstering their chances of signing you.

Carl's Jr. Might as well enter the board room too and offer Dwight an unlimited lifetime Six-Dollar Burger card. That should do it. :nthat:

Lakers doin this all wrong anyways. No Kobe, no Nash, Phil, Magic, Kareem, **** all that.

Mitch walks in with a six packa white women in Laker jerseys and a pen in his hand. Sign the paper, get the sixer.

Then he'll play even better with more kids on the way.
Mitch. :pimp:

The knicks tried all that BS with lebron. Offering him his own show, lifetime supply of certain restaurant food/clubs/etc, how much extra he would make in endorsements. It didnt work. They shoulda pressed him on winning championships in NY.

I truly believe Dwight will choose the team that has the best chance of winning.

Dwight is going to pick the team that can provide him the most yambs.

i don't know. they sound very similar to me. both are promises of money from external sources and they are contingent on where the player plays.

if the team follows the rules of the CBA and doesn't pay the player under the table, etc. i don't see the difference.

I see what you're sayin CP but is this new regime willing to and break the bank and is willing to pay the new luxury tax to create a super team like how they used to. Even a Mark Cuban is reigning in spending. The Lakers are a storied franchise and they'll never be down in the dumps too long but if I was a Lakers fan I'd be crossing my fingers Dwight stays and becomes the center piece to build around going forward. I dunno, I just find this whole, let him walk, we'll be ok/we don't really want him anyway angle a lot of Lakers fans are coming from is  to me. Love him or hate him, he's still the best C in the league.

But yo, that GSW deal is tempting. :wow:

I just wonder if the Lakers pull the trigger if Dwight chooses GSW or do they say nah we're not helping you out. At all.

CP that sounds like a great sales pitch to promiscuous Dwight.

Riiiiiight?

Look here Dwight, we gave Magic a lifetime contract in the 80's, look how good that turned out for him........oh. No, nevermind that.

Wilt is Dwight's idol, 20k in LA is within your grasp Dwight, all ya gotta do is sign.......

[sprewell] i got a family to feed! [/sprewell]

Yessir.
No more child support needed.
Just give a copy of that Carls Jr. black card to
each of his 8 baby mommas and the kids will stay fed until they're 18. :pimp:

To me it's simple, if he doesn't want to be a Laker and he looks like he can't handle being the face of this franchise let his *** walk. It doesn't make sense to hope and pray that he stays. You're just setting yourself up for disappointment.

You stupid

Factory reset in 12 months anyway. Not breaking the bank, reloading roster by that point.

And they just signed a 3-5 billion dollar tv deal, we aren't scratching for loose change guys, we'll be ok. No one player staying or leaving will destroy us. We always come back. And ironically, at this point, our fanbase would riot if we weren't back online as soon as possible. And management knows that, they hear it everyday.

Are Lakers fans gonna burn Dwight's jerseys if he leaves? :nerd:

I honestly don't know a single person who owns a Laker D12 jersey. Haven't seen one ever worn in person either.

But to be fair, I don't live directly in LA. About 75 minutes north of it.

So who knows?
