Yes I did. Shoes has a lot to do with the spread of popularity of basketball. Millions of people out there may not have even seen MJ play, but they damn sure know what Air Jordans are.

 No he didn't. He wasn't the first tall PG and he wasn't the last. You heard of a guy named Magic Johnson?

And shoes? Come on man. If that's the case then put Nike in the hall of fame. Not penny. 

Again...he was my favorite player and alot of guys favorite player in that timeframe. I think Lebron is on record saying that Penny was his favorite player. 

But non of that stuff matters. He played at a very high level for a very short period of time and then his career was abruptly cut short. That's not hall of fame material.
 
The HOF let's anyone in. He's probably not far off just with his playing resume from Memphis through 98ish. (& but I never saw an impact beyond that other than being a fan favorite for people our age).

And unless requirements change..Tmac and AI are locks. As is Vince. Their resumes match up very well with the Richie Guerin's and Bernard King's of the world.

Magic wasn't yamming on people like Penny and couldn't shoot like penny.

As if you decide that. I just state reality. If RALPH SAMPSON AND CHRIS MULLIN are in the HOF, why wouldn't Penny, Vince, A.I, or T mac make it?

Pretty sure those guys are in the hall based off their college resumes.

And why are you grouping AI with those other dudes? You sound foolish. AI has the accolades to justify being a first ballot HOF'er. Vince and T-Mac will get into but not as first ballots.

Penny is stretching it. The guy had 4 or 5 prime years..he only totaled 10k points. He basically had a 6 year career. AI, Vince and TMac had a decades worth.

Of course. He had an influence to on bringing international play to the NBA. He was a 7'0 Center than could pass and do things that Centers never did. He opened the way for folks like Toni, Manu, Pau, Dirk, Peja, and all of them to make it to the NBA. Thats good enough.
