In regards to Bill Simmonds' comment about players taking less money to play with Lebron, who do you see joining the Heat in the offseason? Manu? :nerd:

Down the road...Melo?

(somewhat joking).

andrew bynum one year deal maybe if they amnesty mike miller

JPZ - I know not everyone subscribes to my thought process, but they have 3 guys in their 20's next year. Bron (at 29, and with 36,000+ minutes already on his odomter, or more than the normal 29 year old) Chalmers will be 28, and Cole will be 25. That's it.

Everyone else, 30+. Bosh 30, Wade 32 going on 57. Ray Allen 38, Miller and Lewis 34, Battier 35, Birdman 35.

They're just going to be out of gas. It's just gonna happen. More injuries will pop up (probably from worn out muscles, etc) They can rest all they want in the regular season, in the end, you're adding 9+ months of hard fought ball on top of these last 3 years. In the last 36 months, they've been ballin in 30 of them. Other teams have played 26-27-28 etc.

If you have a team with 400+ games in 3 years
And a team with 320+ games in 3 years, who has more energy in the tank?

At some point, it catches up. It just does. It adds up in all sports. NFL teams have a hard time just reaching the playoffs the year after a Super Bowl. That extra month of hard fought beatings they take. Baseball teams with pitches pitching an extra 6 weeks wear down. In the NBA, it's the legs. They wear down.

They just played 14 games in two rounds to get this title. They were on the ropes MULTIPLE times. Now, with less milage than what they will be at next year. If they make significant upgrades, 3+ bodies, maybe in their late 20's, ok, maybe you have somethin, but if it's the same roster, forget it. They won't have the extra gear they need when you have to dig deep like they just managed in game 6 and 7, 48 hours apart.

Looks like Donald Sterling and CP3 are about to bump heads over this Doc situation.

I think if CP decides not to return than D12 is following him wherever he goes.

CP, this is why I think it's imperative to try and trade Bosh. If the past two playoff series have shown anything, it's that Bosh can be taken off his game and become a non-factor. That being said, he does have nice trade value. I think Pat Riley sees what everyone else does and probably realizes that things need to be shaken up a bit going forward. Bosh would net a nice return....probably get some younger assets. Miami is the class of the NBA, but if they're serious about making a run at a 3-peat, drastic changes need to be made.

Oden will be on the Heat next season, if magically his knees hold up he will be 8 rebounds and 2 blocks easily.

****** forget how good he looked when healthy

They're going to man.

We don't know anything yet of course, but most of the big FAs are being rumored to be sticking around in the West. :nerd:

Derrick Rose WILL be back, but he still hasn't played a single game yet and we have no concrete indication that he will be like how he was pre-injury (I have high hopes for him, though). Is it too much to ask to see him in ONE game first? In reality, all we're going on is reports of him looking good in practice, and him sitting out much longer than he needed to. Is that really enough to say that the Heat have a worthy challenger next season? If he is the same or somewhere near it, adding him would be like adding a giant free agent to a team that was one series win short of the conference finals. But with regards to that, we just have no idea how his recovery will play out in the real game yet. :\ Wade's a year older, sure... but Bron and Bosh will either be the same or better. Age is not a factor for either yet.

The Pacers, as young and as talented as they truly are, just feel like the type of team that had their chance, and may never get back. Will they ever be within one win of the NBA Finals with this squad again? We all know that SO many things have to work out to even get to the point they were at a couple short weeks ago.

At this point in time, the Celtics can't even be called a factor. Rondo will be back, but Doc and KG are on their way out? That's a significant + and a couple of significant minuses. So you've got Rondo, Avery, Jeff Green, and POSSIBLY/MAYBE NOT Pierce... does that team have a realistic chance of reaching the conference finals?

The Knicks are paying Amare 45 million dollars over the next two seasons. :x And they're still a piece or two away from legitimate playoff success. They could steamroll through the regular season again, but if they're not going to alter anything worth noting this off-season... that team just won't be worth noting once the calendar turns to April unfortunately. I would love to see some of those guys in big spots, so lets hope Grunwald does something.

Brooklyn feels like they're pretty maxed out... they could move up to the #3 seed and if everything falls right the #2, but can you see that team, as it is currently assembled, in the NBA Finals?

They'll be there again on the shoulders of #6.

Yes

.

And that's all I am trying to say, I don't mean the Heat aren't good enough to pull the feat off, it's just the history of the game I'm pointing to.

It's the same reason I laugh at the whole MJ woulda won 8 straight. Bull ******g ****, that joint would have crumbled after 5 years. Now I give MJ the credit that he MIGHT have carried his Bulls to a title in 94 for a 4th straight, maybe, he was that great, and maybe LeBron will be too, but I see too many guys in and out. The Heat benefitted from Wade sitting out a playoff game in round 1, Haslem sat out a part of the Finals, Bird, Battier, Allen's minutes were greatly reduced. And they barely squeaked by. That's a credit to them, but now reduce their speed a half a smidge of a step, and things change.

And I don't see Wade getting stronger neither, I see his body wearing down quicker and quicker. And Riley said last night, 6-7 more years? I hope he was just drunk.

If they flip Bosh for 2 younger pieces, then maybe you have something. Bring in an Oden or Bynum like was mentioned, maybe those 3 bodies carry them when Bron/Wade need rest.

But if this team stays the same 8 thru 9 or so, with only end of the bench additions, they won't outrun history. The league has shown us, 4 runs into June do not work out for anybody.

Wade is my guy but he has 2 years left max

Son has chronic arthritis in one knee and bone spurs in the other, he been grimacing every game this year almost.

I doubt they trade him though

I would say Wade is safe from a trade but if we're hearing about Paul Pierce being on the trading block then anything is possible.

However, I can't see any GM being dumb enough to trade away worthwhile talent for someone 32 years old with injury problems.

But then again...Chris Webber was traded for Mitch Richmond so....

wade is more tradeable than amare. dwyane's got mileage on him, but he's played the past 2 years on a championship winning team. amare has just been hurt and walked around broadway. do i expect wade to get traded? no. i don't think any of the big 3 gets traded. i think chalmers gets moved and maybe haslem and they go from there, letting the clock tick away till the playoffs next season and eventually allow the big 3 to opt out.

Guys they aren't trading Wade or Bosh.

Like really, they are one of the few players in the league who can play the swarming trapping floating zone scheme they play, neither of them are going anywhere. They aren't trading them for younger pieces, they are in win now mode.

Just so you guys know...Memphis FO has been meeting with Oden throughout the playoffs (while Memphis was still playing). They have been heavily recruiting him and that's why he's been seen at some of the Grizz games this year. Outside of the obvious (Mike Conley), his agent is also Conley's father.

So, don't be surprised if Memphis gets him especially if they can offer him something near the MLE. I think if Memphis doesn't get him, it'll be because they would like to spend that money on perimeter help unless they move ZBo and/or Prince to free up room.

I do know that one of their priorities is to find a suitable backup for Marc next season. I guess depending on which coach they role with, they may look to play small off the bench with Davis playing the 5 along with some 4.

even if amare had insurance, though, i don't see any team trading for him unless they're giving up kwame brown. dude's been a billboard at best since he hurt his back before the celtics playoff series.

greg's been trying to play with his boy for a while, wouldn't surprise me. i just hope he could stay on the court.

@MySportsLegion DeMarcus Cousins & his agent have informed Kings management that they will ask for a trade if Cousins does not receive a max deal extension.

Oh. :nerd:

blow that franchise up and start fresh with good basketball people. cousins has the talent, but he hasn't acted like a max player. kid should be a beast.

reke would be okay on the knicks.
