Whoa. Deng to DC?

For Emeka and 3rd pick. o.o

Sources: Deng for No. 3 pick explored

The first decent NBA Draft trade rumble of the week involves an All-Star who's no stranger to the speculation game.

Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com that the Chicago Bulls, in their latest attempt to gauge the trade value of All-Star swingman Luol Deng, have had exploratory discussions with Washington about a deal that would land Deng with the Wizards and bring the No. 3 pick in Thursday's draft to the Bulls.

The most likely trade construction, if talks were to progress to the serious stage, would send Deng to the Wizards for the No. 3 pick and center Emeka Okafor, who would have to formally opt into his contract for next season ($14.5 million) this week for the trade to go through.

Yet it's worth noting that Cleveland, sources say, has interest in Deng as well ... and there will surely be other potential trade partners to surface if the Bulls decide they're legitimately ready to part with Deng after years of flirting with the idea.

Deng on the Wizards?

I thought the Bulls would at least see how a Rose/Butle/Deng/Taj/Noah line up could do.

:smh:

please god no

why would they trade him so we can play vs him 4-5 times a yr :smh:

You pull the trigger on that in a heart beat if its a viable option.

You get younger explosive guard in Ben who can stretch the floor and move Jimmy into that 3 role full time to let him continue to develop.

And you still have the contract coming off the books at years end. That's a total win imo.

ben? i thought we were getting back emeca????

I'm saying you draft Ben McLemore. 6'5" shooter with bunnies.

Pooh, Him, & Jimmy... that's a pretty athletic and competent 1-3.

But sources out of Washington have stated that they will not do that trade

Interesting interesting. I don't know much about this year's draft outside of Ben and Trey lol.

I guess the Bulls management would feel really confident in the development and the ability of Jimmy Butler, to be willing to let Luol Deng go. But who knows.

its honestly insane how much jimmy grew from last yr to this yr...MIP award to paul george was a damn cop out imo

Now that Doc is the coach for the Clippers do you guys think they will look to trade Jordan for Perkins?

Are the Rockets able to sign both Howard and Josh Smith? Sign and trade involving Asik, Lin and someone else?

I know it won't happen but I honestly think Howard would be a perfect fit for the Warriors.

yeah good idea

and please dear baby jesus let the clippers take perkins for jordan

did scottie put the paws on somebody

Scottie Pippen involved in fight

Updated: June 24, 2013, 4:06 PM ET

MALIBU, Calif. -- Authorities are investigating a fight involving former Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen and a man outside a popular Malibu sushi restaurant during the weekend.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore says the altercation occurred about 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Nobu restaurant on the Malibu shoreline.

Whitmore says there was an argument between Pippen and the man, who was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries. He added there were several witnesses who are being interviewed by investigators.

Whitmore says criminal charges could result from the incident.

Pippen helped lead the Bulls to six NBA championships in the 1990s.

Pippen is a special adviser to the team's president and chief operating officer. The Bulls declined comment Monday.

If he improves more next season, he should be in consideration for that award.

Why can't Griffin's numbers be hollow? I think they tend to be.

He really does completely rely on his athleticism. It doesn't just have to be dunks and putbacks. How many times a game do you see him elevate in the paint without facing the basket? That's not a reliable "move." But it's really all he's got. He has a great "at rim" shooting percentage, but is he getting tough buckets on the block when it matters? Nah. He's better than most power forwards off the dribble, but again, he doesn't really have a plan or a move at the end of it if there's no dunk. Jumper... mediocre. Free throws are still an issue. Turnovers are kind of an issue. He is an excellent passer for his size, though. No doubt.

He has improved, defensively, but it's still more of a negative than a positive. And as was stated, why is the rebounding dropping already? It's not because the Clippers have a lot of it. His minutes per game went way down this year, but if you look at rebound rate instead of rebounds per game, it still drastically regressed. And his rebounding in two different years of playoffs is WAY down.

2011 - 18.6% of every rebound while he is on the floor
2012 - 17.8
2013 - 15.2

2012 playoffs - 11.9
2013 playoffs - 13.4

He's just not a very good basketball player, man. He's 24. I get that. But what has really changed from day one? If anything, I would argue that he's gotten worse because his one elite skill (rebounding) has been on the down slope for two straight seasons.

I think they should absolutely be trying to move him. There's obviously a ton of value there. But his market value is probably much higher than his actual value.

shouldnt magic be added?

he won an ncaa title in '79 (his soph year)

won a title in '80

won a title in '82

won a title in '85

won a title in '87

and won a title in '88

i believe that covers the same age range that you mentioned above

Alot all time greats had pretty great accomplishments by the age 28 or their 10th season in the NBA.

I think Magic, Bird and Duncan's are the impressive but that doesn't fit their agenda
