Scottie Pippen involved in fight

Updated: June 24, 2013, 4:06 PM ET

MALIBU, Calif. -- Authorities are investigating a fight involving former Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen and a man outside a popular Malibu sushi restaurant during the weekend.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore says the altercation occurred about 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Nobu restaurant on the Malibu shoreline.

Whitmore says there was an argument between Pippen and the man, who was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries. He added there were several witnesses who are being interviewed by investigators.

Whitmore says criminal charges could result from the incident.

Pippen helped lead the Bulls to six NBA championships in the 1990s.

Pippen is a special adviser to the team's president and chief operating officer. The Bulls declined comment Monday.

so it was a domestic dispute?

he was being cooperative, he's a celebrity. had this been anyone else, he'd be in holding right now.

Three jobs still open (Celtics, Grizzlies, Sixers).

It looks like Hollins' only realistic destination is the Celtics. Karl and Jaeger are competing for the Grizzlies position. I have no clue who the Sixers are hiring, but they won't hire anyone until after the draft/start of free agency from what I've read.
a hollins/Rondo pairing? yikes. They'll have to be separated after every loss

bynums one of my fave players all time. hope he goes somewhere where he gets his shine and is able to dominate

 I just noticed you used "Welp_" as your intro over Hey

If I'm in need of a big man, I absolutely take the risk on Oden for a couple years if the price is right.

Yeah, the "Welp_" was pretty much because I see him in Miami as a foregone conclusion.

Hell, when Ray had his pajama jam I knew it was a wrap.

I agree though, if price is right and need dictates,

take a flyer.

For me though, I remember all the reports of Brandon Roy looking "amazing",

and look how that turned out.

Returns to his Portland form.......? What's that, sitting on a training table?

 returns to his 80 games in 4 years form.

And join an uptempo style team. He wouldn't last a practice. Brandon Roy's comeback in Minnesota would look like Kareem's entire career next to Oden in Miami.

At this point, the Heat should just take a look at Hasheem Thabeet and hope he can cut his 6 fouls in 5 minutes to 4 fouls.

CP, I get that he would be a risk (which is why you sign him for 1-2 years and $4 million per, tops), but you have to recognize that Oden was really, really good when he did play.

Pippen is a ***** for that. :smh:

Unless dude attacked him first no reason he should he stomping anybody out like that.
That's internet thinking.

Some people think that they can say what they want to people, then getting away with it because they didn't strike first. We don't know what was said to Pippen, but he wasn't arrested, and that should tell you something.

When you kick someone's ***, you should always make sure that they will think twice about getting up, then coming back.

Stay down.

So true!

In real life, trolls will get their butt kicked if you mess with the wrong person

I never saw him play. His longest stretch was what, 20 games? 30? He never played. And in those he did, 25 minutes-ish? He's a taller, less athletic Birdman then.

But also in Portland's slow *** Nate hindered offense, now we want him in Miami?!!???!!? :smh:

That's BEGGING for let down. His legs couldn't survive slow and methodical, so now we try fast and faster? And if they slow down for him, you slow Bron/Wade. Why would anyone do that?????

I know I'll get dismissed as a hater, but I don't see the fit. I know Miami has the need, but Oden won't fit. Tyson Chandler, sure. Oden or Bynum, no way.

Welp_

Apparently Greg Oden is in Miami...

...Don't people want to compete any more?

He looked great a few months ago when I saw him on campus working out. I hope he's TRULY healthy, a good guy.

Make it happen Riley :pimp:

Nah hes in his prime and hes the #1 option, i see him putting up 22 and 6 and being an all star, toronto 6th seed next year too

Oden was a walking double double when healthy (which was like 35 games total but still ) When they played the Lakers he was bigger and better than Bynum. For the little bit that he did play he was a problem. Foul trouble was his nemesis on the court however.

If MIami signs him Riles isn't stupid. He will barely play until the playoffs and even they he'll only play in small stretches when they have to matchup with legit bigs. If they can get him cheap you go for it no doubt.

And Rudy Gay is going to finally ascend all star super star next year. :pimp:
