Who woulda thought that at the end of the day the Orlando Magic were the biggest winners

it really goes to show that no one should ever judge a trade RIGHT when it goes down. especially with young talent, picks, and cap space involved.

Orlando lost...

They got rid of howard, and got serviceable players who will take them nowhere, drafted Oladipo who im def not sold on but hey who knows

And to top it off has landed themselves in the lottery for the forseeable future yea they def won that trade :rolleyes

were about 1 year removed from the trade. how can you possibly judge the impact it will have on orlando one year out? especially since they got a bunch of young players.

NONE of those big names are even on their traded teams anymore. how can you possibly say that orlando lost out of all the franchises involved in that trade

Lakers got dwight, an 8th seed 1st round sweep.. Philly got a dude who didnt play a game. Orlando got oladipo/ lotterpy picks for another year or 2. Plus cap plus some cheap players.

Cause when you trade one of the best players in the league all you want are a serviceable 2 and lottery picks... Nope, as for philly they can be crowned the co-losers

I rather make the playoffs then be in the lottery every time

They made the playoffs once, and got swept, orlando is in a position looking up, LA is in a terrible postion

Lakers lost? Tho they gave up a player who didnt play a game and was on his way out, to rent a player, that helped them get to the playoffs

And the magic win even tho they are getting lottery picks and losing records

Idk whats to hard to realize that lakers won cause trade netted them more wins than the other teams involved except nugs

My last bit on this trade

The lakers in the next 5 seasons will make the playoffs more than the magic

Magic got affalo, which is an alright player, and lottery picks. Key word is lottery they arent guaranteed top 3 picks so they are hoping to luck out

If not they will be losing for anywhere from 3 to 6 years, not a good look

Sure if they sign lebron next year

You may be right about Durant but Weatbrook on the other hand, i don't think there's a chance he stays in okc, I say he goes home to play for one the la teams

I feel as if westbrook just wants to get paid the maximum amount of money, however I can see him leaving if a big market team has a solid team but needs a star.
Westbrook took a significant paycut off his max, basically 3 mil a yr to stay here. He would have been eligible for the "Derrick Rose rule" extension if he would have waited til the end of the season (to be announced all NBA). I still don't doubt 2 of the Big 3 end up getting traded (Presti won't let them make it to free agency, he'll ask them to sign early before their final yr, they say "No I want to explore my options this time around," and he'll have to flip them for something) if we don't have a championship prior the yr before their final seasons under contract so 2015 for KD and 2016 for Russ and Ibaka (since KD is under contract til 16, and the other 2 til 17). I would pump the brakes on some of this Rockets = contenders stuff though. They don't even have a full roster yet and beyond that, there will be growing pains with them getting used to each other and Harden hasn't been stellar in his last 2 playoff series.

Even with not signing a damn body so far (due to offering everybody the minimum :rolleyes and no longer than 1 or 2 yrs) and looking at Fisher and having the worst center in NBA history, OKC is an easy pick for #1 and HCA throughout the playoffs. Our division (Northwest, not the Southwest with all the Texas teams) is horrible and our Big 3 is pretty good, when all of them are present anyways. We're putting WAY too many eggs in the unproven Lamb and Perry Jones basket this year though. He killed the D League sure, but looked extra average in the NBA this far and he doesn't get to the ft line or basket at all like the previous 2 6th men

So does ATL re-sign Teague? They already lost out on CP3 and D12 anyway unless they think Lou can run the O for them.

Damn I didnt even know that, I dont even know what to think about russ then. Im working under an assumption of us getting J Smoov if we get him were definitley contenders, not saying were the best team or even top 2 for that matter, but were contenders in the west.

I wonder if the Lakers will go after Josh Smith to play the Shawn Marion role in D'Antoni's offense. Kobe ain't gonna be cool with not making an impact move this summer.

Teague is a RFA?

yeah. but they could always rescind their qualifying offer to make him UFA or let another team sign him to an offer sheet and don't match it. Either way you never know with what Ferry got cookin.

Maybe ATL found a way to bring Schroeder this season. :nerd:

In Thunder's search for third point guard in free agency, there is mutual interest between the team and veteran Derek Fisher, source says.

Dudes has to have serious dirt on them.

Pacers should go after Teague. He's a local kid and exactly what they need.

Edit:

These fools have George Hill under contract til 2017 @ 40 mil. :x

Why did the Mavericks get Calderon?

I think the Lakers shouldn't try to upgrade their roster this offseason, even if they had retained Dwight and got another great free agent that team wasn't going to be a championship contender.

Long term Orlando won easy

In like 5 years they'll be like yea all those wack picks given from other teams made all the difference

S/T for Granger + picks?

Why did the Mavericks get Calderon?

I think the Lakers shouldn't try to upgrade their roster this offseason, even if they had retained Dwight and got another great free agent that team wasn't going to be a championship contender.

They don't trust Collison to run O. They went and got themselves a true playmaker in Calderon.

Hawks confuse, they seem to be in that perpetual loop of the bottom 4 seeds in the east.

It's like they don't want to blow it up, but can't lure that big player, so they put out a good enough product to keep the team competive and the fans interested.

They let J.Smith walk, which I understand, but sign Milsap, so now your gonna have Al playing out of position again.

Why not flip J to Houston for Asik before signing Milsap ?

Now they have Teague, who I thought was their PG of the future, draft Dennis.

Idk man

^reports saying though ATL may go after Pek so that would solve AL's position problem.

Yes, Vucevic, Harkless, Harris and Oladipo all in 12 months time along with a possible top 3-5 upcoming, yeah, they lost.

:smh:

That is a tremendous haul bud, you out your mind right now.

I'm sure Minny is gonna match a Pek offer unless it's some out of this world thing.

If healthy, that's a playoff team.
