LA and Houston may both be big cities but in LA you're under the spotlight more. Way more media attention in general compared to Houston. I'm assuming that's what he meant.

In Shaq's eyes, Houston is little in terms of exposure and media attention. Compared to LA

Pretty sure Shaq was just being Shaq. Smh at me for trying to make sense of his statement

I don't like the signing but whatever, they know better than me

especially with football being relevant in Texas/Houston

And josh Smith just ensured himself 0 trips to the finals and severe depression.

Barnes over Landry 1000 times out of 10.

Malone.

Dude wouldn't shut up about him when the Kings got Malone.

Plus he kept his home here, so I'm sure he likes it in Sac.

Cause players would rather get more years just in case injuries.

If you would sign me for 8 million one year but the next man is 18 million 3 years I'm going with the 3 year deal unless I KNOW I can ball out in this one year and demand more than 8+ a year on a multi year deal.

Nobody would give Copeland that type of 3 year deal. Sign decent players or even scrubs.

U keep cap space while tanking.

The only argument one an make is fans won't come until u net a star.

comes out to $6.5 mil per year, solid deal for a guy who could be (and has been) elite off the bench.

I wasn't using Copeland, just being general. And giving Copeland 12 million is silly. Rather get 4 people for 3 mill and keep who develops the best.

What exactly are the Kings aspirations? Because a guy like Landry's talents are best used on a team who's intent is to win games. No point in getting a guy like that when all you're going to do is tank

LA is basically lakers all the time. sure, clips are doing well, dodgers, kings, sc, etc. but lakers rule LA (and socal) 24/7. dwight likes that star treatment/atmosphere but he isnt comfortable with the scrutiny that comes along with it.
in houston, the rockets arent under a microscope. the media isnt gonna follow his every move. dwight can just relax, clown and goof around, and play ball.

any news on pekovich?

Full @Shaq quote on @DwightHoward leaving #Lakers for #Rockets: "The Dwight Howard thing, it was expected. We've all been in LA, and not a whole lot of people can handle being under the bright lights. Everybody wants to do it, but when you get there, there are certain pressures. I think it was a safe move for him to go to a little town like Houston. That's right, little town. I said it."

guess shaq must still be butthurt about how The Dream swept him in the finals almost 2 decades ago

their intent, along with 28 other teams, is to lose.

only the Spurs intent is to win games.

Everything about this franchise is set, except for the roster composition. Adding a good character guy, who actually likes Sacramento, is a positive.

Plus the fact that he knows his role is an added bonus for a team full of bone headed players.

He's made it pretty clear he wants the money. Think all those lies he told himself about the Hawks have jaded him to winning. Might as well get paid now while he still can.

No pressure in DET and he gets the max. Where else he gettin that?

Sacramento is struggling to keep that team there. you really think it's in their best interest to just tank right now?

it's like you guys are convinced that if you don't have a shot at competing for a championship, you should just tank until you're in a position to draft a star or get a couple in free agency. Houston just proved that you DON'T have to do that. we barely missed the playoffs a few years in a row, but the team always competed. this past season things finally came together enough for us to make the playoffs and the payoff has been huge. had we gotten James harden, but the team still missed the playoffs, I'm almost sure that Dwight wouldn't have signed with us.

Just curious, do you save any money at all for retirement?

You almost had me . I'm on NT mobile and you can't even make out that there might be black text there.

Don't the Kings have a ton of forwards already though? Don't they have Chuck Hayes Patrick Patterson and Jason Thompson? Where's the minutes for all these guys? I don't watch a lot of Kings games so please fill me in
