Kevin Mchale will have a hard time playing Howard in late game. Not sure if he has the will to bench d12. Drama will be had.

I will say hes a great role model for younger players. By cancer I mean to championship aspirations. **** if your content with getting a prime player next year and being a 2nd round exit for the next few years then kobe is your guy. LA will get destroyed by Houston next year, Houston will sweep the season series unless an injury or resting players take place.
La will not get destroyed, Pau will toy with dwight, ala the finals.

kobe is still better than harden, which is hilarious

Lakers will be back to the top before you know, and i'll laugh and say told you so when it happens.

Thats even worst, if you said young Kobe was bad and selfish, ok I don't agree with it but ok I could maybe see how it could be said

But to say currently that Kobe is a bad influence on the Lakers now is beyond ridiculous.

By cancer, I dont mean how gilbert was a cancer to the wizards, I mean Kobe is a cancer to any championship aspirations that the Lakers hope to achieve, with an aging, selfish, coming off an injury, kobe I dont see any way he wins a ship being a number 1 option, even number 2 is a reach, he'd have to be in a wade esque position with a stacked team around him and another star player IMO.

What I said earlier about Kobe letting go, it hurts because the loyalty between him and the lakers will probably hold this team back 3-4 more years, then if he retired or the lakers let him go. Damn near identical situation with Dirk and the mavs. Its sad to see but you gotta respect the loyalty.

Kobe said he was ready to hand the reins over to Dwight but he just wasn't going to give to the guy especially the way Dwight played for most of last season

Yeah duh Kobe is going to need alot help to win a championship again, he's going to be 35 years old! I can't think of any player his age, historically that didn't need alot help and to sometimes to be carried, even Jordan needed to be carried by Pippen by the end of the 2nd 3 peat

Dwight looking like the new LeBron with some of these ridiculous hate filled posts and new members popping up

Are these all just angry Lakers fans and ppl who followed this Dwightmare stuff for too long and too closely?

Na that ended last year when kobe went down, even if he was healthy id still take next years harden over next years kobe.

Yall either gonna tank and youll be back up top in 3-4 years, or youll continue to ride kobes pipe dream of getting another ship and be mediocre to above average for the next 5-7 years. Or you get lebron in free agency and well you get lebron in free agency.

If you do make it back to the finals, or even the conference finals for that matter, Ill be the first one to say I was wrong, same way i said i was very wrong about thinking we lost in the harden deal.

Aside from the decision, which I could see animosity towards lebron from Cleveland for, lebron didn't really do anything wrong to be hated. I could see Kobe Stans, and Cleveland fans disliking him but he didn't do anything to warrant the hate elsewhere.

Moving on Dwight should hire a good publicist. Alot of the self inflicted negativity Dwight brought upon himself could've been handled better if he was given better advice on how to handle these types of situations. I would expect a guy like Dwight to have alot of yes men in his corner rather then those giving him solid advice.

Kobe said that, but I personally dont believe that he would have handed it down to dwight or that he will accept being a 2nd option until he retires or lebron shows up. NO EXCEPTIONS. Jordan got the help from pippen, but to say carried is a little extreme lol. if Kobe gets the help thats great, nothing wrong with that, but again I just dont see him choosing not to be the number 1 option.

Well, this will be my last rebuttal to you dwight is by far better than smith and iggy, and were actually a threat now, maybe not a big one, but you cant sleep on us. With lin harden iggy smith asik and parsons, we're a bigger joke than the clippers.

Dwight by himself can have a bigger impact on a season than iggy and smith together can ever dream to have.

You're right. Dwight impact will be bigger than smith and iggy at 3 and 4.

In a negative way that is lol. Houston is a threat to who? No real playoff team are scare when they see Howard in the 4th. Lol. Teams like okc, clips, Memphis, spurs are not scare of you dudes at all.

It's easy to defend Howard in the low block.

LeBron left the city he grew up in (or close to) to burn to the ground, without so much as a warning to team up with 2 all stars in their primes. This guy was supposed to be "the chose one, the king" but had to team up with 2 prime players to win a ship. Alot of the hate also stems from being compared to the jordan and kobe when he had to take that route to a ship. If they didnt get kyrie theyd still be up ***** creek without a paddle.

If this makes sense, I really hate what ESPN and certain fan bases have done to LBJ (and Tim Tebow) since the decision.

1.  Cleveland was a perennial doormat of the NBA before LBJ got there. Because of him, they had several seasons where they had the best record in the NBA and Cleveland was all of a sudden the most entertaining team in the association. He even took them to the NBA finals, something truly remarkable considering the history of the Cavs. He put in more then his fair share of dues for his hometown team.

2.  The decision was one of the worst PR moves Ive seen in my lifetime. I understand people being upset then, but if there is one fan base that had no right to be upset its the Cavs fans. Before LBJ what was Cleveland sports wise? The Indians were mediocre, and the Browns were (still are) a NFL doormat. Those same Cavs fans that burned his jersey, probably never bought Cavs jerseys, or tickets or anything before he came along. He owed them nothing, and the way the media made it look like he flaked on them is despicable.

3.  I never understood the "he cowered and joined two all stars because he couldnt do it on his own" argument. Kobe had Shaq/Gasol, Duncan had Parker/Ginobli, Pierce had Garnett/Allen and the list goes on. Why is it mandatory for LBJ to win a chip on his own, when in recent memory no one else has had to do it?  LBJ led the Heat to both championships (especially this last one). He still was the man on the title teams, just like Kobe was when Odom and Gasol helped him win back to back titles.

4.  Maybe I watch to much First Take, but the hate on LBJ has gone on waaaaaay to long. Dudes are over-analyzing every facet of his game and expecting borderline unrealistic expectations of him. He could get 35 and 10 in a game and the media would find a way to criticize him.

Sorry for the rant, but I had to get that out. Im actually a Kobe stan, but what I see said about LBJ is absurd.

Do the clippers have money to get kenyon martin? They taking all the players the lakers had on their radar before dwight left :frown:

I don't have a clue as to why the Warriors signed Iguodala unless they're planning on trading Barnes soon. And then on top of adding a player you didn't need you lost your backup point guard who played a huuuuuge part in their success last year, and your backup and a lot of times starting power forward without really having a replacement for him. Theres been some stupid signings by teams this summer, but not resigning Jack was one of the dumbest. It seems like the Warriors basically lost every single vet on the team besides Iggy, Lee and Bogut.

Its a big difference between all those trios n the heat. Spurs built theres thru drafting, lakers traded fpr pau. Kobe, tmac, and duncan didn't call each other and plan to link up next off season, that would be more of the same type of scenario

Lebron was a free agent for crying out loud

The difference is Dwight Howard isn't an elite player. He's just a lucky tall guy playing in an era with no centers.

Not true.

As bad as he is offensively he is an elite player because of his athleticism, rebounding and defense. Dwight would still have his same rebound and block #'s in any era, I don't like him at all as a player outside of that but give credit where it's due.

I think they plan on taking the small ball to an extreme by putting iggy At the 4 at times. I don't think it's that bad of a signing, they obviously need to find a backup point though.

he would get them rebounds and blocks but he would also get worked in the paint in some eras.

I'm not going to argue hypotheticals but I doubt he would have gotten worked by dudes outside of Hakeem, Ewing and Shaq. You guys really underestimate how rare his combination of size strength and speed is. If he had added any skill to his game he would be dominant.
