The big issue is that they didn't amnesty Perkins. I don't believe the issue is that they picked Ibaka over Harden....to me they picked Perkins over Harden which is even dumber. Perkins is making 9 mil/year, Harden's extension is for 16 mil/year. The contract they offered him was for 9 mil/year (I think those numbers are right). If they amnestied Perkins they could have offered him more money and had a legit title shot for the next couple of years. Like mentioned before, their front office is really getting a pass. They have made so many mistakes. Great at drafting not much else.

In their present forms, PG is better than Wiggins, substantially at that. I think that Wiggins has the potential to be better though. But it'll take a lot of work.

ima disagree on that. Pg wouldn't sniff an all star game if he was in the West. Plus with rose and rondo injuries that all star appearence should have an asterick If we're comparing players. Wiggins will better than pg will ever be by the middle of his second year

Give PG the edge because he shoots better. And is a little more polished offensively from what I've seen. Wiggins is very poised though. I think Wiggins will end up better. I hope so anyway lol. I like the kid.

So the Pelicans have not improved their bum team even with their "basketball reasons." Good job Stern.

list the "so many mistakes" you speak of..

the most the thunder could have given harden was 4 years 60 mill.. because he was a restricted free agent; even if another team offered 5 years 80 mill, the thunder could have "matched" and harden would end up with the 4 years 60 mill (since westbrook had already received the thunder's 5 year deal.. and harden didnt meet the requirements for the extra max)

as datz pointed out, the thunder tried to resign him numerous times to their terms.. that didnt work, so they moved him

the thunder's final offer was around 55 mill

Thank you.

So tired of reading "shouldn't have chose Ibaka over Harden" when that was not the case.

On another note,

I'm sure Hennigan owes Presti a favor...right?

Right?

Julius F. Wrek

Larry Bird returning to the Pacers.

They needed Bird back after how badly Donnie Walsh and Kevin Pritchard botched building their bench last summer. :smh:

The CP trade was about long-term growth, not immediate success. You need to wait at least a couple more years before you can say whether the trade was a success for the Hornets. With the Clippers trade, they got young talent and draft picks and the prospect of success in the future. Drafting Rivers might have been a misstep, but Davis appears to be the real deal. They also have Gordon, who when healthy, is a very good player. They have a good, young nucleus of players who can grow together.

IMO, they'd definitely be worse off if the Lakers trade for CP went through. They'd be a team with decent, aging vets, that would probably still be a lottery team in the West, but they wouldn't have the kind of young assets they have now.

i would of jumped on that deal

Nah I don't think that's nearly enough.

Interesting to see the Cavs push so hard to get a second star now, rather than wait the February before Kyrie's free agency.

^ really it frees up a lot of money for the wolves and gives them longer to improve instead of rushing to be in contention since love can walk sooner

If they've already resigned to the idea that Love's leaving, it's a decent trade. But I'd really only be confident in Waiters being a solid player. Tristan and the #1 are almost filler

maybe minny is interested in a 3 way with the lakers that sends pau to minny and love to cleveland and lakers get the no. 1 plus tristan and waiters

i think thats a very good deal for the Wolves IMO

nice young talent, i expect Love to leave in the next 2 seasons anyways.

Minny laughed off trading Love to team up Pau and Rubio 2 years ago, I don't think they've changed their minds.
