I remember reading somewhere that Nash was saying he was the best pg of all time on paper before he coming to the Lakers

Add Ed Davis to Bayless, ZBo, Gasol, Allen, Wroten and just about everybody on the roster outside of Conley to the group of players that did not like Lionel Hollins. They definitely respect him, but did not agree with a lot of other things he tried to do. This is why a lot of fans think the team is in better hands with Joerger because he's a little more innovative and will allow guys to grow.

I liked Hollins old school approach, I just did not like the fact that he wanted to coach the team as if there was no 3 point line and the only strategy they had was to pound it inside every possession. He did do a great job at getting guys to buy in to the team concept and helped make Conley a much better player, but there is a good reason as to why the majority of the guys did not care for him much.

I also wonder why he has yet to find a coaching gig. You would think a team would have snatched him up quickly.

I'm not understanding the clipper hate. Props to CP and other die hard fans of other teams for being objective.

Bulls fans know FIRST HAND what a different a coach makes on a team culture. We had the top seed for much of last season with Vinny del Negro at the reigns.

VINNY ******G DEL NEGRO.

Docs in.
CP3 is locked up long term.
This team finally has some stability.
We killed free agency, just need to lock up a serviceable big and we're a top 3 team in the west that can compete with SA, OKC, MEM, GS etc. (btw that's the top 5 in no particular order).

Now Kobe wasnt good for the game. One of the 10 best players ever wasnt good for the game....... Please take this nonsense to the Kobe is Over rated thread.
He is one of the top ten players according to some, but not all.

Sorry to tell you that, as I know that many Kobe fans here think that their opinions outweigh all others.
I think its only because of injuries the reason why nash played the way he did. If Nash was healthy everything would have played out a little different
I'd love to see Nash healthy, but I don't think that Kobe can follow anyone other than Phil Jackson.
I would love to see you find five people that dont think he is. Make a thread, I would be shocked. You cant even classify me as a "Kobe fan" to say that he isnt top 10 is ludicrous

I don't think its hate. I think they will be better this year than last year. Its just the people who think they are automatically the favorites now when nothing is given. The same goes for the Warriors. Right now, the favorites are the Spurs or Thunder. Those are the last two teams to win the West and Thunder have their 2nd superstar coming back. Now, whether they win it or not is another story. I honestly don't see Memphis, Golden State or the Clippers having a better record than those two teams right now.

For the most part, when teams stick together with their core group of guys they do not have to go 15-20+ games to learn how to play with each other. And we all know the playoffs are about matchups. No matter who the team is, if you have a bad matchup in the 1st or 2nd round, you can hit that exit door.

This is why I say the West is going to be extremely tough next season. I don't think there is a clear cut favorite, but if we are going to pick two teams it'll still be the Spurs and Thunder. The reason why OKC is not a clear cut favorite this year is due to them losing their 6th man and now they will rely on possible unproven talent to carry that offensive load.

Not a lakers fan. Not a Kobe fan. Just a fan and participant of the game.

Has everyone been sleeping for the past 17 years? Watch the man play.
Kobe is top 5 of all time.

Hollins isn't a great coach, but he's decent. I just don't get why whenever a lot of teams have a coaching vacancy, they call up coaches with mediocre records. (See: Byron ******* Scott)

Bunch of recycled coaches. lol

Antidope, there are several people on NT that don't have Kobe in the top 15.

Trust me.

Kobe overrated thread tells you he is no better than Ray Allen, JR Smith, Clyde Drexler, Vince Carter etc etc.

LOTS of co signage too man. Wasn't just 1-2 guys sayin that.

You're right, I got sucked in :smh:

Dude really said George Mikan

I'm done. I Promise to never engage in the GOAT argument again.

Whats wrong with Mikan?  His contribution to the game is top 10.  Period.  Now if we're making a list of the top 10 BEST players thats a different story

I feel what you're saying but if you go back through the pages there's a lot of salt with no support regarding our squad.

Regardless, the west this year is going to be another dogfight. Can't wait :pimp:

So other than knee problems, heart as well. And dude needs to lose weight. Hey atleast its basically only 1 yr with 6m only guaranteed. Worth the risk.

Questions still remain about Bynum's knees -- "It's not a slam dunk," one league executive said -- and even moreso about his heart, according to a league source.

"Actually, there was no reason to have him work out," Lee said. "His skill level's not in question, so there's no reason to work out. The reality is he has not picked up the ball in some time and he has to get his weight down. He's got to lose probably about 15 pounds, which is not a big deal. But to get on the floor you've got to reduce your weight, otherwise you risk injury."
