Oh my god. I cannot believe these guys were expected to be part of a rebuilding core for an NBA team

 
Could LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony be playing together after next year?


Nearly three years ago to the day, LeBron James went on national television and made “The Decision.” This led to a year filled with hate and pressure for James as he was hailed as a villain for the first time in his career. Fast forward three years and Lebron has two NBA championship rings, three straight Finals appearances and two more league MVP awards. I think he landed on his feet just fine from all the backlash that took place during his first year in Miami.

Now a year away from being able to opt out of Miami, LeBron James, still in his prime, will be courted by many NBA teams once again as they try to lure the game’s best player from South Beach. Besides the notable teams that have already been rumored to be clearing cap space for him, Stephen A. Smith from ESPN says LeBron James is looking to play with a certain player and not necessarily a certain team when he becomes a free agent again.



Via ESPN/First Take:

If the New York Knicks can somehow miraculously create cap space, which I don’t know that they can do, LeBron James will entertain coming to New York. You know why? Because just like he wanted to go and play with Dwyane Wade, LeBron James now wants to go play with Carmelo Anthony.

But I’m just telling you what the desire is, I’m not saying what is going to happen. These are all possibilities, but he does want to play with Carmelo if it is possible and if it’s ideal.

Get rid of Nash and Gasol and go after his friend Chris Paul. Paul told Howard he would sign with the Lakers if they had cap space. The Lakers told him No, then Kobe release statements saying he will play 3 more years and he won’t take a pay cut.... Sounds like the Lakers didn’t want Howard there as much as he didn’t want to be there.

Kobe is going to be the downfall of the franchise.

They gave the dude 30 Million dollars, that's the DUMBEST thing I've ever heard of in this era of pro basketball. It's a TEAM game, why am I paying one guy 3/5th's of our total cap? Who am I supposed to have for his supporting cast? 

Dwight brought up a good point. That team could get back to winning if he would take a pay cut. They can reel any free agent to play for them (and their organization can steal whatever player they want, *cough* Pau Gasol*cough*). But Kobe wants to hold his team on ball and chain with that contract.

If my memory serves me correct amare contract is up 2014 or they could amnesty him. Or they lose Melo entirely in 2014

Knicks used amnesty on Chauncey Billups..

Amare has a player option.. Considering his injury history is as bad as Bynum's who can't even get $6mil guaranteed.. And Amare's upside isn't even half of Bynum's if he stays healthy. Amare will be 32 in the 2014 season.. He won't opt out.

Bargs is making $12mil next year player option (he will definitely get a 4 year deal in 2015. But not nearly at that price, he won't opt out).. Chandler $14mil.

Those 3 combined take up 80% of the salary cap.

Seems like another article to create [more] Howard animosity. Oh well, at the end of the day, the NBA season will move on and people will continue to watch and complain.

And based on that post about Lebron wanting to play with Melo, I'm guessing Melo will be wearing a Heat jersey, then the Knicks will make a blockbuster trade for Vince Carter?

yea yea i know its a pipe dream and will never happen blah blah blah but can you imagine 3 of the most hated nba players on one team?

sports world would implode

espn would create a new channel based off them
 
Damn the Nets are going ALL IN for next season. I've never seen anything like it.

I don't care to see Bron & Carmelo playing together would rather see Bron back on the Cavs or Kyrie come to Miami.


Melo going to be fat as soon as he turns 30
