at this point any team has to be stacked to even make the Finals

spurs and mavs definitely were not stacked

I disagree, any team with 3 HOFs plus an additional all star caliber player (who many Spurs fans believe is their next franchise player) is stacked.

Mavs are the outliers though.

I think Jason Terry was a better NBA player in 2011 than Manu Ginobli was in 2013

HOF or not the Spurs were Tony Parker, Timmy, Kawhi and some guys.

^yea when arguably your best player is 37 I think that automatically disqualifies you from being stacked. kawahi was not quite all star caliber last season. let's not even talk about manu.

and also maybe it wasn't a big story but it seems like everyone is forgetting that the rockets had one of the top offenses last season. I think they were top 10 in points per game, fg %, 3pt %, and assists. problem is they were close to dead last in defense. their strategy isn't much different from what dantoni was trying to do but they have young guys that can actually run. will be interesting to see how it plays out

Rockets are gonna be stupid nice. There are some marquee match ups in the west this year. Can't wait.

I get why ppl outside of Chicago don't buy all the d rose hype. Last year was handled so poorly many if not most Chicago fans were flat out sick of his "camp".

Chi wouldn't be favored against Miami but a healthy squad could definitely beat them. The team is better than it was 2 years ago and even though the ECF ended 4-1 had many close games.

The east is Miami and everyone else. But this year due to injuries all over Miami had a nice path to finals. Hopefully not the case next year.

how many times were they favored
they pushed the c's to 7 his rookie yr
lost to cavs the next
got out the first and lost to heat. had home court but the heat made it to the finals and almost won chip
injured vs phil (probably wouldve made it out the first with him)
out all season (team got past nets without him)
its funny ppl say this yet LeBron who was practically in the same position, with a much worse off team.... got further more often...hell got to a finals and a good amount of you guys was calling him lefraud...the lefake etc...

So to get it str8...a dude wins mvp...yet hasn't accomplished much of anything but a early exit out of the playoffs, who has a much better team...and coming off a year in change injury equals the truth.

Yet a mvp who arguably was the best in the league, who on multiple occasions took a team to the playoffs and a trip to the finals, with a team that was horrid and can only be rivaled by the Iverson lead 76ers...was a bum and not worthy of praise and was unproven and as many of you nters put it a Lefraud...

That's why ppl say/call ppl jock riders, homers etc... because many of the things stated and said on here go against all that is logically, sound, and rational.

Im not saying dude is or will be garbage.... but to say based off a early mvp...and a early bounce out of the playoffs, plus coming off a major injury. dude is basically gonna reign as a champion and be hailed as one of the best in the league is silly talk.

How most of y'all and the media judge players is funny. So if a players team doesn't win a title all of a sudden that devalues them as a player? I'd rather judge a player on what he brings to his team/the game as an individual. There are so many variables that hinge on team success specifically championships that its stupid to base your argument on a players game and include his team success which has a lot more to do with gm's, coaches, eras and etc

Dwight would have flourished here on the Warriors. Orlando was pretty much Dwight surrounded with a bunch of shooter, GS would have been Orlando on steroids. You have 2 player who shoots over 40% from beyond the arc, combined to hit over 500 3 pointers this past season, and an all star power forward who can hit the elbow jumper. They went to the second round with Bogut who was coming off an injury and wasn't even 100%, imagine how much better they would be if they had Howard roaming the paint.
I agree in terms off team success etc.... but I was looking at what Dwight wants on a personal level. its like saying thunder was better with harden.... and disregarding what harden wants... which imo they were. we could play musical chairs and do mock trades etc....with any amount of players/teams and come up with scenarios in which team success would be better. but if isn't or the player feels its not in they best interest, for w/e reason, who are we to question it?

If Dwight feels he will have more success and will grow to be a better overall player in Houston...and likes their chances at being winners...we will just have to wait and see. I don't know about team success in terms of vs if he went to gsw...but I do believe that Dwight as a player could def improve overall learning side by side with McHale and Akeem...vs being in gsw.

considering there were 100 page threads combatant your argument mainly about melo/kd/LeBron, I think its hypocritical and ppl consider and think like you only when its convenient, and it applies to a player they like.. or a player from their team.

Suns placing Kendall Marshall on the block. Acquiring bledsoe made him expendable. Is Kendall worth development time?

maybe but how in terms of money/Dwight that been better? Yea its a good move from a basketball fan/would love to play it on nba2k aspect. But for Dwight, money, less/better situation in terms of child support and getting free training by akeem the dream...it wouldn't have been the best move for Dwight. Only ppl who really benefit from this is warriors fans and especially lakers fans, seeing as all they got for Dwight was older.

So surrounding the best center in the league with one of/if not the best shooting back court of all-time, one of the top perimeter defenders in the league and an All-Star power forward that can play inside-out wouldn't have benefited Dwight at all? That team literally couldn't have complimented Dwight any better. That squad could have been one of the most likeable and entertaining contenders of all-time. Dwight would have been on a fun team that WINS with the best crowd in the league. His image would be restored so quickly.

I think things are gonna be rough in Houston when he realizes that the offense is solely going to be dependent on him and Harden the same way it just was with Kobe. Only difference will be that Harden is a better facilitator and more willing to pass the ball.
Kobe actually averaged more assists than Harden. Dwight is gonna end up crying in Houston just like he did in LA.

The thing that's hilarious to me is that people think going to the Rockets and learning from Hakeem is going to make Dwight improve his post game. This dude is about to be 28 YEARS OLD. This isn't some raw 18 year old prospect from Ghana. He's been tall as **** his entire life, there's probably been hundreds of big man coaches along the way that have tried to teach him post moves.

He needs to be surrounded by a bunch of shooters...and I don't really see much of them on the Rockets besides Harden, Parsons and Garcia.

For his sake I hope Rose comes back and balls out because if he doesnt, Skip Bayless will turn dude into public enemy number one and I dont think his psyche can handle it.

Technically yes, but Harden basically averaged the same number of assists (5.8 ) while playing 82 games with Lin who averaged 6 himself...Kobe had like 30 games last year where he pretty much had to be the main scorer and facilitator since Nash was hurt

^kobe went on that passing spree when nash was playing tho
o yea i already know, he might have even had more double digit assits games than Nash did during the season  ...not really about Kobe, just pointing out that Harden was playing with Lin the whole season and still basically averaged the same amount of assists so it aint like he wasnt passing the ball or Dwight should be too worried about geting his touches...

you guys are missing the point though. saying dwight is a young shaq? what the blue hell?

Never compare shaq with dwight. they are two different players

shaq was a beast offensively and could dominate on offense. Dwight will NEVER be able to do that. NEVER
maybe so jury still out.....if anything your analysis further proves the point....if kobe wasn't willing to sacrifice and compromise for arguably the best/most dominant player of the last decade..(I still don't get why ppl say kobe seeing the first part of the decade it was shaq, and the tail end of the 2000's it was LeBron) why would he years later after winning two chips playing "his style" of bball. plus being 10 years later at the end of his year, just up out the blue and revamp his game for a player that's nowhere near shaq status?

Why did ppl actually think and believe this was going to happen?

I mean its happen before....remember nash and dirk both were really late bloomers. Nash for awhile was basically a scrub being a back up back up to kevin Johnson for quite a while in his career. Or look at J Kidd....dude probably spent atleast half or 75% of his career as a horrid 3 point shooter, then next thing you know he ended up being a top 5 percentage wise in the league, not to mention ended up 3rd all-time....

I mean there are other players I could use, but I think you get my point. Dude is 27...not to mention he started what 2 years ago getting tips on post moves from ewing....and he did improve slightly....then goes to l.a. to which he got none (kareem even said so, saying I woulda help had he asked, after the fact) So I mean lets not act like he been getting training/coaching by kareem/akeem/dave robinson etc... all his 9 years and showed no improvement.
