El-P + Killer Mike = Run the Jewels (RTJ 4 - OUT NOW!)

After releasing their own album  a few days ago, Killer Mike and El-P reunite with Until The Ribbon Breaks (whom they've worked with on the first RTJ  album) for the new single from their own album, Lesson Unlearnt, which will drop on January 20th.

Looks they're doing a number 3

This is sort of like the chemistry 9th and Murs developed.

I always wanted Killer Mike and David Banner to do a project.

I'm all for RTJ3, don't get me wrong, but Mike still owes us 3 albums: R.A.P Music 2, Pledge 4, and The Elegant Elephant. I'm not trippin tho if RTJ3 comes out before any of those, but I still want them.

That would be such a dope project. Both hard and socially aware.

I dig RTJ2 btw. Like is much better than the 1st one, especially the last 4 songs

RAP Music was sorta the prequel to RTJ tho... LP produced the entire album...

As if there was any doubt, Killer Mike and El-P will complete a third lap as Run the Jewels!

According to NME, Mike let the case out the bag, during a recent Q&A in London, with the simple statement, "Run The Jewels 3. We start work in January."

El-P also revealed that he and former Rage Against the Machine front-man Zack de la Rocha—who appeared on the RTJ2 track "Close Your Eyes (And Count To F*ck)"—will continue working together as well.
"In 1999 I spent a month in my apartment in Brooklyn with Zack de la Rocha just before he split Rage Against The Machine, working on music that will never see the light of day. I can't speak about his future but I will say that I'm going to LA to spend another month with him in January."
No need to wait until January though, there's plenty of dope on RTJ  and RTJ2  to satisfy anyone's needs.

What's the consensus on RTJ vs RTJ2?

Also, anyone think either is better that The Cold Vein?

honest I love both rtjs, I think if I had to pick one I would pick rtj2. maybe that's because I've listened to it more lately but they are both awesome albums.

Cold vein is different bc its cann ox yet still great. Fantastic damage is a dope el-p album from around that time period too. Cold vein and fantastic damage are great albums and it's hard for me to compare with RTJ because imo they have different styles to them.

Still I think my favorite el-p track is company flow and Ill bill - simian drugs, those guys just go ****ing off on that one.

Also, i don't know if it's easy to find or not anymore but anyone who is down with el-p and hasn't seen revenge of the robots should do so. It's a dope movie/documentary about el-p and def jux.

An old friend is actually working this project to Alternative Radio (Specialty Shows, which are ALT's new music/mixshows).

Which I thought was kind of cool.

Focusing on "Early", "Close Your Eyes", "Crown" and "All Due Respect".
