She has aspergers?

Did they mention this or something you guys picked up?

I made the mistake and wiki'd it. Then it made sense. I kept wondering what the deal was with the headphones and monotone.

Thought it was extremely slow to start off. I honestly didnt get into it until the last half hour. I hope this is only an hour show and not 90 minutes every week.

I did enjoy the last half hour though.

Anyone watch Under the Dome and/or Falling Skies? Amazon Prime has it and i was thinking of getting into that too.

Just finished watching the pilot. I really enjoyed it. Good pace and you can tell that there will be a lot of twists and turns. I'm most intrigued with the angle of the widow and what she's about to uncover in that locked room in the abandoned house. Another thing....why did the girl voluntairly get in the car w/ that creep? Speaking of the creepy guy, he's got to be a pawn in the whole serial killer angle. Dude seems too simple to carry out complex tasks. Has to be someone else calling the shots.

recorded it last night, watched today, wasnt impressed, i didnt like the acting, the fact that every phone call sonia was on earphones really bothered me, actually sonias whole character bothered me

I liked the premiere the two different bodies cut in half wow. I just wanted Lillard guy from scream movie to explode in the car I never liked him in anything

Very interested in this show it's like the killing which I also like.

When I saw the trailer for the first time, it reminded me of Fringe. That's the vibe I got, especially when the mentioned that the body was different colors. They kind of made it seem rather alien like in a way.

But yea, I hate Lillard too...never been a fan of him at all

Interesting, I was trying to figure out her deal and didn't want to look it up yet. Was hoping it would be revealed in the upcoming episodes
I do watch Falling Skies. Really like it. It starts off slow. Has a lot to balance in terms of character and plot development more so than other shows. I haven't heard of Under the Dome but I'll look into it.

I didn't mind the slow start sign it reminded me of another show or two so I was content with that.

Are you guys talking about the girl that got into the trunk of the Chevy Impala.

She was clearly trying to sneak across the border and he was clearly the contact. She just didn't know the guy would be creepy like that and that she'd have to lie in the trunk

yeah you can tell she had aspergers off the bat because she showed no empathy with the guy that had the heart attack

and the dude that lost his wife , not to mention her social awkwardness

Same thing I was thinking Double. No lie

I feel like the girl getting in the Car is connected to dude who had a heart attack.

What are the odds they in Mexico for "horses" then dude has a secret room, not to mention that cell with a Hispanic lady calling :nerd:

Ahhh...good theory. In Mexico for "horses," but is smuggling girls back over the border.

I think it's all apart of her character. From what I've been reading, she's in the autism spectrum with the Asbergers. To me, that perfectly explains some of her mannerisms. It's a great angle for the show.

You're probably right. Dude did have Texas plates on his car, so that makes sense.

Watched it this morning. I like it so far. What annoyed me was the bomb scene. Like a DDR would spend his last minutes alive answer a cops questions over the phone.

As far as the secret room goes, I think it's a tunnel to Mexico. What for? I don't know.

Yeah and she clearly says to the grieving husband, "sorry I show no empathy to you" as she walks out the door. I knew they were trying to crowbar something in with that. Thats really why I looked it up in the first place.

Hmmm...tunnel to Mexico. Good theory as well.

*Didn't the wife look like Jamie Lee Curtis?

There has to be something else as well. When dude was sitting in the hospital bed he tells his wife. "I saw the light, and I don't love you anymore. I want a divorce."

Who says that on their death bed? And I thought his heart attack was routine. I thought he was going to be fine. You think the wife murdered him after he says that?

Bump....just a reminder it's on tonight. I'll get it on DVR and watch tomorrow. Should be a good one!

Time to hit up the bar and look for cute chicks with aspergers symptoms and hit on them now

Episode was good, I get suits one day and then bridge the next :pimp:

Was she fingering herself first, and then figured why not go for the real thing.

Not quite sure why the fingering scene was necessary.

It was interesting b/c she hates other people touching her. That's why the one-night stand was so interesting. I dont know if you all have picked up on it, but her boss at the police station gives her subtle bumps with his shoulder every now and then.

OMG - great call on the tunnel.

the boss acts more like a father figure

Yea...and also, everyone in the office is very tolerant of her.

I was reading a episode recap on Grantland, and in the pilot the police captain was gambling at the table w/ the cartel boss. The boss whose brother was in those photos that Cross saw in the Juarez PD.

I just love this show. So many different layers to the story.

Very interesting character twist for Sonya...it was good because it separates her from Homeland's Carrie in my eyes now. They're both crazy but in different ways - Sonya is very much masculine and like "one of the guys" probably in large part due to her condition. Unemotional, a little ignorant, and then the way she was just looking to hook up and then kicked the guy out of her place after they were done  If not for that I would've thought she was a lesbian

Yes I noticed the shoulder thing as well when he bumps her.

They have a history, i and I think it goes back a while.

If you noticed in the first episode she freaked out when he said he was leaving to do the horse thing? She always rocks a jacket with horses on the back so I think it's related.

Ahh...good pull on that. She does have a strange attachment to that hideous jacket. I wonder if the reason will ever come up?

I forget the lady's name, but the writer for The Bridge, wrote some episodes for Homeland. It would explain some of the Carrie/Sonya parallels.

The jacket probably belonged to her sister.
